all ew prices

lucky 31 ew 0.50 pays about £30K.

Jezki
Mr Mole
More of that
Holywell

I have to put Micheal Flips, [courtesy of dazzler] and Edeymi [courtesy of mayo] into an acca, so I need a couple of other under the radar types, will include them in a yankee too, any ideas chaps? May go with Vyta De Roc for one in bertie b, plus maybe something being primed for county/ grand annual or Byrne plate for fourth leg.

Minella Foru might be one for Grand Annual. Think MG has been on about him too.

32Red are offering 3/1 for Mullins to have a winner on 1st day of the fez, new customers, max £10.

Edeymi 14/1
Arzal 20/1
Vyta du Roc 14/1
Micheal Flips 12/1
Place acca pays around 470/1
Win acca around 61450/1

As with all of these I'm really playing for the place roll up, but I've also stuck a yankee on the four in case of two or three winners.

Selections.

Champagne Fever CC 8/1
More of that WH 7/2
Au Quay De Tour CB 11/1
Balder Success RC 10/1

These are all my current ante post bets LR.

I'm quite happy with most of them. I took the biggest chance on Ballycasey and that backfired a little bit but hoping he still runs and he'll be better come cheltenham.

Just waiting on the handicaps now, especially the coral cup as that appears to be my lucky race!

Liam, to me "pts" is a way to disguise your stakes because I don't believe everyone bets level stakes.

Basically pts is a system for when you bet to see if you are up or down on level stakes.

A lot of bigger backers use a points system to grade the strength of a bet, so for instance if you would back a horse that you were confident would win and placed £20.00 on it, you are effectively backing at £2.00 per point. You would normally place your maximum bet on a horse of this type to reflect your confidence, which leaves you to put lesser multiples onto ones where you have less faith in them, so if there was one that you didn't want to go unbacked but had reservations you may allocate a strength of 3 points which means in this example you would place £6.00 on the horse.

I'll try and explain simply but someone else may be able to do a better job than myself.

People often use points when talking about betting strategies because it takes the financial complication out of it making it easier to weigh up profit and loss etc. Most people have a set cash value that they bet for each race or on each horse, and so they refer to this constant as a point.

For instance if someone determines that each point for example is £10...a 1pt e/w bet on a 10/1 shot would be the equivalent of saying £10e/w and would cost £20 or 2pts. Say that 10/1 shot wins you're return would be £145 or 14.5pts (£110/11pts for the win, £35/3.5 for the place at 1/4 odds). Minus your original stake you're then +12.5pts.

It's just an easier way or monitoring than dealing with large cash sums. Hope that has helped slightly
