anybody got aline on where Jollyallan will go ?

From fry website

hoping for with a
decisive success in the Class 2 Novices Hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day.

The strong early pace suited him well as he has such a high cruising
speed and though he was not foot perfect at the last flight he was well
in command at the finish as he beat the Irish raider Sempre Medici by
four and a half lengths.

We wanted to see improvement in Jollyallan's jumping and it was better
though AP McCoy felt he was still a bit clumsy at times.

He is such a big horse and the penny has not quite dropped yet. But he is
certainly going the right way and is now unbeaten in three runs over
hurdles.

It is all about giving Jollyallan experience at this stage, so I imagine
he'll be sticking to novice races for the time being.

Also reported

"We'll take it one step at a time. Obviously his game is going to be fences, but for now he'll stick to the two-mile trip over hurdles. He's going the right way, and I hope that will continue."

So Supreme or nothing I'd say

Windsor Park anyone ? this is his trip I think

After lepoardstown

Weld said: "He did what you would expect. He's won his last four now.

"I was concerned it was a little bit soon. He had a little hold-up as he didn't school as well as I'd like.

"He's never been to a schooling hurdle so I was a little concerned with his jumping and it will improve dramatically.

"My only concern was if he had enough experience jumping. IT maybe came two weeks sooner than I would have liked, but this is a lovely galloping track and the two and a half (miles) suited.

"He's very talented, so it's onwards and upwards. We'll find a nice winners' race at the end of January or start of February.

"Considering it was his first run and considering he didn't have as good a prep as mine normally do for their first time over jumps it was very encouraging.

"He'll stay at two and a half. He's a stayer with speed."

Still not mad about Weld at Cheltnham

Thx

West Wizard and Gaitway still on my radar too although not sure why Given Hendo record in this race

Out Sam jocked up over 2m 6f at Ascot tomorrow.

Might keep him for the EBF race or going 3 mile route ?

Value at a risk out next week

A14-1 Abert Bartlett and 16-1 for the Neptune, will run at Cheltenham on Trials day with his performance over the shorter distance helping connections decide which race to target at the festival.

Skelton has planned to run the six-year-old in the Grade 2 2m4½f Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle on January 24 since he won by 22 lengths on his debut for the yard.

"Value At Risk's preparation has gone very smoothly and, since Newbury, it has always been the plan to take him to Cheltenham next Saturday," he said. "The weather is looking very wet but we are really looking forward to running him.

"I thought he would win at Newbury but I did not expect him to do it as impressively as he did. We had left a lot to work on because we have got next year in the back our minds. He will have an entry in both the Neptune and Albert Bartlett at the festival, but he is very much a horse for the future."

With all respect to Timeform, if those quoted ratings were complete, anybody who watched the last 2 races of Douvan will be in no rush to back L'ami Serge in the Supreme!

The whatever Ruby rides in Supreme angle usually works though !

Between them Ruby Walsh, Richard Johnson, AP McCoy and Barry Geraghty have won 5 and been placed in 13 of the last ten renewals of the race.

Walsh in particular has been the man to follow with 4 wins in the last decade. He was also runner up in 2007 and those punters availing of bookmaker concessions which paid out of an extra 5 place position would also have got paid out on another two occasions. Backing Ruby and availing of the maximum concession would have got punters off to a flyer at 8 of the last 10 Festivals. Backing him to win at level £1 stakes would have seen punters up £18.50 over the period.

Id say you can forget about Out Sam although I think they were saying similar about Vaniteux this time last year

BJG

OUT SAM is still very immature but showed a good attitude to win the two mile six novice s’ hurdle. He will be better with time and three miles and it might be that Aintree suits him.

Nice little race at Leopardstown tomorrow. Ruby on it ...

Willie runs three in a novice hurdle and I’m on Killultagh Vic, who has to get back on track, following a poor performance at Ascot.

We were beaten then by a smart horse in L’Ami Serge, but my lad put up no resistance whatsoever.

He just didn’t show and should at least have made a fight of it to the final flight. He is working great at home now and I anticipate a much improved display.

Willie’s other two are Outlander and the French-import, Net d’Ecosse. Outlander probably didn’t stay three miles when beaten by Martello Tower at Limerick, while it will be interesting to get a handle on how much ability Net d’Ecosse possesses.

The horse we all have to beat, though, is Gordon Elliott’s No More Heroes, who was too good for Willie’s Shaneshill at Navan.

Nothing to bother the Mullins battalions there ...value at risk was disappointing

Lots of blue on the board at Oddschecker for Kilcrea Vale, don't know anything about the horse but would appear to be fancied

Lots of blue on the board at Oddschecker for Kilcrea Vale, don't know anything about the horse but would appear to be fancied

Must have worked all over West Wizard !

And using my google skills :)

The opening race, the John Deane Novices hurdle, saw nine runners go to post in what was the largest field of the afternoon.

It was won by a class act, the 6/4 favourite Kilcrea Vale who won easing down by 26 lengths. Jockey Jeremiah McGrath would have needed binoculars looking back to see his rivals.

The Nicky Henderson trained five-year-old joined the top trainer’s Lambourn stable in May after impressing on his Irish point debut. Class certainly oozed out of his performance here. Market Rasen handler Michael Chapman saddled Dontupsettherythem and Scamblesby trainer Steve Gollings gave Deficit his hurdling debut. Both finished down the field.
