2015 Arkle Trophy Chase

Thanks Mayo. That's great news about Josses - I'd read a while ago that he might not be seen this season.

Mullins/walsh form in Chases at the Festival of any concern to Vautour backers ?

As far as I can see Ruby is 1/25 [cooldine] on Mullins chasers at the course

It is now Yeehaa, I was happier when I didn't know that stat, surprising too. has he had that many chasers with the potential of Vautour though? Maybe that's why he was so keen to go chasing with him

I suppose Champagne Fever would be the one who was seen as having Vautour type potential. Mickey dhaganet had some fans back in the day too.

FWIW I have Townend at 0/19 on chasers for Mullins there.

From memory I think Townend's festival record is terrible. I think it's something like 1/50+, which poor considering he rode plenty of Mullins first string when Ruby chose to ride for PN.

Townend is a very good jockey but is 1/72 at Cheltenham (all meetings) and 0/58 when riding for Mullins.

Patrick is the man for Vautour 3/18 in chases and 5/27 overall riding for his dad at the course ;)

Lies damned lies etc etc

Rich Ricci: "Whichever way you look at it, Vautour was brilliant at Cheltenham. I think he could be extraordinary." :D

As Mayo said earlier......

Josses Hill has schooled well and is nearing a return to the racecourse.

I read this on Twitter earlier.

Ricci made some comment at the Kempton lunch today about willie being motivated to win King George because of all the chatter about not winning chases here :D

Good news I hope - Simonsig went via Noel Chase at Ascot and Wayward lad to the Arkle.

UDS debut and fall

vs Vautour chasing debut

So just watched BG talking on Boylesports promo vid (see Henderson stable tour thread) Josses Hill he is looking forward to but knows UDS will be a big challenge, has BG just given us a hint as to where WM is gonna run UDS or was it a slip of the tongue as NH thinks Josses is ideal for the Arkle?

Paul Kealy in post today said if Ruby has a tough decision deciding between Champagne Fever/ Fuagheen at Kempton and Vuatour at Leopardstown then Vuatour should be backed for the Champion Chase.

I see Vautour has shortened for both the Arkle and the JLT with most bookies, still undecided obviously. I think much now revolves around UDS, which has shortened as well for the arkle, performing well in his next chase, if he flops again I reckon the Arkle will be the primary target, unless they decide he's good enough already for the Champion chase.

Well I don't think Vautour and UDS will be worried after that, NH will no doubt school him more maybe send him to Yogi'sbut JH didn't look all that I'm afraid

So UDS managed to stay on his feet and beat yet another bunch of also-rans leading to him being made joint fav for the Arkle. The Mullins yard must have aspirations of Gold cup glory for vautour to consider longer novice distances at this stage so they're obviously fairly confident he's a stayer.
