RSA Chase 2020

I think Faugheen on his day is good enough to win either the JLT or RSA. I’d think they’ll keep him to the JLT personally, it looks the more winnable race. They’ll go for the weakest race to go out on a Cheltenham high

Think you’re correct but I’ve had to have a fiver @16’s RSA

When it comes to this horse every racing enthusiast ( well most ) would not begrudge a winning finale

Wherever he runs

I think your putting words into my .... post! lol He certainly havent said hes a natural jumper. I was replying to the comment that he is out his comfort zone jumping at pace. As you can see I feel he has done his best jumping the faster they go and he is a perfectly decent jumper apart from that 2nd last. I think the jury is still out on his jumping, I dont think it has been as bad as is made out, apart from the one error. We will see if hes learned from that (he is a novice after all) or if its going to send him the other way.

Can’t agree BM , I’ve covered at 10’s because he has a great engine , in my eyes he is most definitely not a natural jumper and the fall was an accident waiting to happen.
The name, owner , connections , media hype is responsible for his current price

Think both HP and Billy are both correct in what they say regarding Champ , he certainly splits opinion. All I will add is he will be hard to beat and his jumping the key , its not impossible but feel the rest all have him to get past.

:) morning William

Agree “ jury is still out “

I just love the way Minella jumps , I salivate as he approaches a fence , with Champ it’s squeky bum time :highly_amused:

Morning Tendai ?

If Bazza is tracking and the horse ( please note all I’m not including the jockey :highly_amused:) makes an error then the rhythm in jumping goes and so does the horses chances

If Champ makes a bad blunder here and wins i’ll Be the first to say “Champ not just in name “
Really looking forward to this

Dog has to be walked and I need some excercise as don’t want to be on any diet Mr Lobos :highly_amused:

Pym 12/1 nrnb strikes me as value, adding him.

:concern:

Highest Sun's run yesterday would put me off.

I don't think he'll be anywhere near godo enough to win an RSA

Really like it to go for this race.

Should go here as I’ve always said think he’s too good for NHC but worried they’ll end up in NHC given how many chasers he has

This race is shaping up to be arguably the best race on the card! Some very good players here!

Any improvements or positives from City Island?

I am the only one not getting too excited by CS. City island never got going so his only other rival was speak easy. He is quite slow/careful into fences and I'd fancy a horse like BOD and a few others to put his jumping under real pressure and take lengths out of him at fences.

Think id fancy him for the 4 miler to give him time to wind it up even if slow at fences but not sure I'd fancy him for the RSA.

Also im not talking out of my pocket as iv only backed him for the RSA......unfortunately.

I think Allaho is value at 20/1 with the Cashout option. Have backed him 20/1 EW. Cant have Champ at 7/2.

Looks like Carefully Selected is going NHC so mullins must have a good one for this race.

Options are Faugheen & Allaho. I love Faugheen, but i will always back the younger horse. Allaho ran well over hurdles last year for a young immature horse, and looks to grown considerably with good engine. Im expecting massive improvement on his next run, and after the Flogas im hoping he will be single figures.

Option could also be Next Destination although lack of entries all season for him is a bit worrying.

HdB taking the bubble wrap route. I’d have thought the grade 3 at Naas Ballyward won last year would have been ideal after he missed Leopardstown, unless he wants to go back to Navan for the Ten Up before the festival it may be a bit tight between races!
