Stayers Hurdle 2020

Pic D’Orhy entered in the Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton at the weekend.

Cheers for that. Thought I had him in a tracker. Took the price for the weekend. Intended runner by all accounts..."Two who haven’t had their flu jabs yet are Frodon and Pic D’Orhy who are set to run at Kempton at the weekend. Frodon is entered in the Silviniaco Conti Chase and Pic D’Orhy in the Lanzarote Hurdle."

Gives me a little hope with Pic D'orhy as he was an early season 'any race' bet. Pretty sure I wasn't alone either.

Was my first cheltneham bet of the year. Placed a few days after last years festival ended.

No Thistlecrack in the Gold Cup entries

I think they expected Pic Dory to be a proper group 1 horse this year. I thought they might’ve waited for the betfair hurdle with him as I didn’t see him as a stayer

would city island revert back to plan b and come here now?

Could do, 10/1 NRNB and only best price 16/1 isn't enticing though.

Even his Ballymore win beating Champ gives him plenty to find with Paisley Park?

Added Penhill 16/1 EW NRNB. If he turns up he goes off 8/1. Lay your win stake off on the day for a free bet. There were only 12 runners the year Thistlecrack was even money for this so we should expect a depleted field and even though it's 3 places, it still has to be value.

Completely forgot how the field size varies in this race.

The without the fav market the way to go , that Paisley Park reminds me of Big Bucks in his pom.

Can see him not only winning but probably rattling up a sequence if he stays sound.

Fair point.

Fair price.

Doesn't look the same horse as he was, but I do love a previous festival winner at double figures.

How does penhill go off a single figure price?

Surely dosent go off shorter than 16s.

A long way from there atm. Hes had it easy so far, with no top class competition. Hes not even faced anything as Good as ITCF yet imo. I'll 100% be backing against him. Outright.

If nothing serious reverts, then I'll have to back ITCF. I don't think is it's a forgone conclusion that paisley park beats ITCF in the cleeve myself.
I'll be also hoping for an entry in the cleeve for reserve tank, who'd have a fair outside shot.

And imo laurina should come here.

Completely agree Scooby (but not about Laurina as I won't back bursters) but Paisley Park being one of the "bankers" creates value outside the fav and I am more than happy with ITCF at 9/1 and Apples Jade at 14/1 only 3lb and 5lb to find.

I don't get the Thistlecrack ew angle as he was shrugged aside by PP last time getting 6lb and cant have him in the first 3

He 100% would go off shorter than 16s you donut.:stupid:

The biggest price he's ever gone off for Willie Mullins was 16/1 in the Albert Bartlett and there is zero chance he goes off that again having won the Albert Bartlett and the Stayers Hurdle.

You don't get the Thistlecrack each way angle?

You cannot have him in the first 3?

That's an incredibly bold shout.... especially as one of the 3 you've mentioned is Apple's Jade!..... If you counting on her keeping Thistlecrack out of the 3 you'll be in a world of pain.

You better hope some stuff comes out of the woodwork, because this division in pants.

Difference of opinions then. Convinced the market will be forgiving, Willie factor, dual festival winner, Willies' December results....plus how many out of Benie, AJ, Laurina, City Island, Thistlecrack, Reserve Tank, Roksana even, will show?

I'm happy enough to chance it and leave the race as is then. I have a small bet on Paisley at 7/2 (and a double with Envoi) and Emiton at 50s, nothing else in the race.
