Queen Mother Champion Chase 2020

All apart from poss sceau royal if it is very soft/ heavy.

Likely to be good/soft if forecast correct. Can't see UDS coming over and Dolos and Janika more likely to renew battle in Peterboro Chase. As for Waiting Patiently....... we'll be waiting forever.

Anyone know any updates on Le Richebourg? I saw Joseph had mentioned he was back with them, but haven’t seen any further updates.

Joseph O'Brien has indicated that a February return is likely for last season's dual Grade 1 winning chaser Le Richebourg who continues to recover from injury.

The six-year-old was strongly fancied for last season’s Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival after doubling his Grade 1 tally in the Irish version at Leopardstown in February — but injury then intervened.

O’Brien said: “Le Richebourg had three or fourth months off through injury but is back in work now and seems to be moving well and is in good shape.

“He is a very good-looking horse, and an exciting horse. He is more likely to return in February.”

UdS comes over.

Top notch goes for the Peterborough.

It's a fact that he's been pulled + has no entries over xmas. Hopefully no virus as i backed Min for the Durkan :sorrow:

That's also Douvan scratched from the Durkan....something tells me he's not pleasing much either.

Tbf Douvan has taken an age to get back and it may be a simple case of RR and WPM deciding not to give Saldair and Douvan any hard assignments after pleasing on debut.

Pure speculation :highly_amused:

The man enters horses in races there never going to run in!!! Id take that as a huge negative for both and ive cashed out my douvan bet. (this not speculation, im just using history to make a judgement call and if they both run ill have to reassess my tactics going forward)

That's a possibility, but for me why was he entered in the Durkan at all then!

Giggy/Elliot do it the same way Billy. It's tactics to ensure the races are easier. See Fury Road and whatever else they had entered and then didn't declare or pulled like Aba. All for an easy race and to ensure if an injury happens they have backups.

Doesn't happen so often in England as they have 56000 races.

I'll tell you what happens in Willie's yard. And most yards, especially those with loads of horses.

If there's a big festival or period of high class racing coming up including the need to make a batch of earlier than normal entries.

He discusses with his team each race and how the 'team' of horses he has in training that are eligible for each race specifically are doing and how they've been in general in recent days, even how they worked that morning.

The ones he's 100% happy with get entered, the ones he's not quite happy with that are not desperate for a run for whatever reason don't.

He has never entered every single horse he has in training in every race they are eligible for, for races that are only three or four weeks away. He may do so for races that are months away however.

It's as simple as that.

lol that sorts that then, nothing to see here, there was me thinking that he enters every single horse he has in training in every single race. These are G1 races with Saldier and Douvan we are talking about at distances they would be expected to run.
Any way moving on. Sceau Royal looks a cracking bet with PP (3 places) at 6/1 in the likely ground.

I agree billy. Forecast looks pretty dry this week. I've backed Sceau Royal EW at 13/2 (3 places PP).
