2014 Ryanair Chase

Yep I think that's a very good shout. I've actually backed Bailey green at 20s for the Champion Chase and I'll back him again for the Ryanair as I want to be on him for whatever race he turns up in. He is a quality horse and as we saw last year, he handles Cheltenham and could be an underrated player in whatever race he goes for.

Yea I'm in too. Much better horse on good ground and Mouse does brillantly with the few good ones he gets.

going to have a few quid on bailey green for the ryanair before he runs this sunday as well boys.. race will cut up big time i think and im confident he should go for the ryanair.. decent price on betfair at the moment

Bet365 Nrnb at 20s rather than general 25s on Baily Green.

Lyreen Legend is another I am going to back Nrnb for this and Gold Cup. Dessie was very sweet on him during the week. Have already backed him for Irish Hennessy.

Don't listen to him Colin.

There is only one Gold Cup and I am on Baily a Green at 25s ;)

lol Stay out of it mayo.

I had a tickle on al ferof @ 20's but i'm not sure about him.Cue card is in plenty of my AP doubles and trebles so i've probably lost a fair chunk already. No doubts in my mind that this race is there for the taking for CC.

Yep. He is a very worthy horse is Cue Card. Not many have won three races at the festival and as you say looks his for the taking.

Al Ferof just looks wrong. Saw someone say that he may have some kind of breathing issue which would seem to make this a more viable target.

I did a First L / Last Installment yesterday. Think there has to be a chance they keep them apart.

Cue Card only won two festival races did he not? The Bumper and Ryanair last time. Was placed in the Supreme and Arkle though...

I have Bailey Green and Benefficient for this. I would really like to see Benefficient go for this but I can see Martin eyeing up the bigger pot in the Champion Chase...

Yep. The point I was making ( badly :p) was that he has what looks like a fairly straight forward opportunity to win a third and join a list of legends. Talking through my pocket Id rather he stayed away. If it turns up soft he could still run here though:confused:

Ha sorry perhaps I was a little slow on the uptake! Yeah I agree, think if it was soft or worse then the Tizzards would probably have to admit defeat and run him here.

Interesting that Nicholls has taken Al Ferof out of the Gold Cup and he will more than likely run here or the champion chase if it's very testing.

Had seen that. First pricewise NR then.

he Ryanair Chase was introduced to the Festival in 2005 as a grade 2 chase over 2M 5F for horses whose best trip fell between the Champion Chase and Gold Cup distances. It became a grade 1 chase in 2008 and has grown stronger each year. It makes up part of the supporting card to the World Hurdle on the Thursday and in recent years the King George at Kempton have provided the key clues for this.

Below we take a look at the trends for the past 9 years:
