Supreme Novice Hurdle 2019

Those graded races in Ireland are absolutely woeful this year. He's a hound and shit out in the last race.

I didnt see it that way myself.

If he had 6 twos in his form instead of three wins and three places I might get it.

Does anyone think Grand Sancy has a chance?

I think he's the best bet in the race currently. Solid e/w alternative to the head of the market. Run consistently well and improved almost every start. Experienced, good attitude, stays, only half a length to find with EDN, will go on anything...lots to like.

He may not have the potential of AD or AB but GS and EDN will both be in contention rounding the bend and he doesn't need to find much on ratings to win an average supreme

...Sporting Life’s Ben Linfoot going a bit left field with Felix Desjy.

He of course has a chance but he is not my idea of the winner. Watched all his races back and for me he simply doesn't jump fluently enough to win a supreme. At the prices, I'd far rather take Elixir who front runs and pings his fences at speed. Jumping was the reason he won the Tolworth over Grand Sancy.

He was woeful at last year's Festival. Most of his form is on flat tracks. It is a far cry from a small field Wincanton race to a big field at Cheltenham. If he were mine he would be held back for Aintree.

History books won't care :p

Better than PLENTY of the others winning it?!

Al Dancer would be the anomoly, the only 'handicapper' .... Angel's Breath would be the Charli Parcs that managed to win it... Fakir the first 4 year old in 20 years ...

It's weak no matter who wins it? .... without the glorious benefit of hindsight anyway...

You're right Kev but but I think he's a massive shitbag and his profile just isn't a Supreme winner.

You obviously lost a lot of money that day.

I know you're a Supreme racing fanboy so I won't debate with you but I haven't had one bet this season outside of the festival so can't be anything to do with money.

No bet this season? Really??

Improved out of sight from last year though don't you think? Got better with every run this year.

Won at Chepstow, which I wouldn't call flat and run well on galloping and speed courses, left and right handed, he's settling better now. I am not saying he's the most talented in the field but his experience and progression is evident to see and at the current prices, he's a great e/w bet.

In general its about more than Cheltenham for most. Especially Archie who is a part owner of Aramon so i doubt you'd get a positive reaction by slagging the horse using those terms.

Not of Aramon. I was just curious about why his bile was saved for just one horse who happens to be the officially highest rated. If he says that it's not a financial thing I'm happy to accept that.

I prefer the term 'club member' to 'fanboy', by the way.

It's all about Cheltenham for me, plus I'm a fan of racing so I enjoy following without a bet.

I find it odd for someone who has such an (unnecessarily) strong opinion, doesn't part with his cash throughout the season.

Each to their own I suppose.

Apologies. A resend. The last 10 winners of the Supreme Novices had run either 4 or 5 times over hurdles. That should leave you with, Dancing On My Own, Felix Desjy, Thomas Darby, Fakir D'Oudairies and, of course, Al Dancer.

Handicap winners & 4yr olds are unlikely winners, so that leaves Dancing On My Own, Felix Desjy, Thomas Darb, take your pick...

How many of the last 10 renewals have had this seasons backdrop though? I can't rule any one out on stats alone

...had a little interest in Felix today to complete my portfolio in this race, interesting Ben Linfoot gave it a mention.
