Ballymore Novice Hurdle 2019

What makes you think that Bobby? That Ruby didn’t mention him?

They'll be watering good ground... so I can't see any circumstance where it's 100% ground related.

I don't think Ruby will mind being on the stayer of the two in a Supreme.

Remember Ruby saying about the ground on this first day with regards to Laurina saying he’s read the cheltenham report and says after reading that report there is no way the ground will be on the quick side on the first day. Due to safety of the horses they will not allow the ground to be quick.

You could drop him back in trip to help him settle better, but if you dropped back in trip in the Ballymore you’d probably also need more speed. Slow horses don’t tend to win the Ballymore as there is a marked increase in pace down the hill and something has to quicken off the bend to win it.
He won’t have to be declared until two weeks on Monday, so we have 20 days to make a decision.

Any quotes?

I thought it was a good performance from Allaho in the Grade Three Novice Hurdle at Clonmel last week.
We were very disappointed with him at Christmas in the bumper at Leopardstown where he just didn’t show any speed. He just kept galloping and went an awful long way to pull up, but that was no good as far as the bumper was concerned!

He did race in my hands a bit but jumped well on the whole last week and stayed well. They were all maidens or winners of one at Clonmel, no horses had racked up a sequence or anything like that, and the Dublin Racing Festival with the Grade One novice hurdles took horses away from the race but it was still a good performance.

I'd suggest Allaho is not slow.

He was 4th in what looks like being a fairly hot bumper at Leopardstown, where the horse in 3rd (Sempo) has bolted up by 15 lengths next time out, the 2nd (Two Shoe Tom) finished 6 1/4 off a Grade 2 bumper next time out, and the 5th (Fury Road) was very well thought of at home and won his PTP very comfortably.

As someone who would prefer to see Klassical Dream in the Supreme if Alloha does not run here what other options does Wille have? Assume Aramon is definitely Supreme bound, anyone think CS still makes the Festival?

I think it will be either allaho or KD in this race.
I get what ruby says that you normally need a speedier horse to win this however looking back on last year samcro and black op the first 2 home....not terribly quick either of them.
Looking at the race this year, which one’s would be the speedier types?
I think champ pulls too hard, BOD is gona be a 3 mile chaser next year.....brewingupastorm and beakstown?
I personally don’t think it looks a particularly strong renewal so I’d be happy for allaho to take this up and think he’d have a decent chance.
For what it’s worth my main bet is BOD, just simply because I think he has the most potential and will hopefully show it in 3 weeks time.

Ruby doesn't decide where they run Willie does. I did think Willie exaggerated how keen he was after the race I thought he relaxed well.

Ruby is a huge part of the process - going right back to when he left Nicholls to work full time for WPM. Someone as shrewd as Ruby doesn't leave a job like that without certain assurances I promise you. All this about Willie giving out to Ruby is complete shite. Their working relationship is set in stone and on the whole highly amicable. Paul does as he's told!

Of course they have endless debates but Willie makes the final decision.

I've backed Klassical Dream here in the anticipation Mullins is very much going to leave the door open in the stable tour to splitting Aramon and KD up

No final decisions will be made until they've done their last serious bit of work at the earliest. Most will be made about 9.45 on declaration day.

Archie, is Willie not concerned about those of us that need to cash out for one of the races?

Aramon would be hard to beat in the Ballymore too. Settle off a slower pace and quicken.
