Ballymore Novice Hurdle 2019

Surprised at Champagne Platinum.

22s available. I know some like him, step up a positive?

Didn't think he would step him up myself, but IF NH really rates AB & MF ahead of him I guess it makes sense, given JP also brought FD to run in the race now.

I like CP, as you may remember (or not), and think he could definitely be a player in the Ballymore myself.

Very surprised at Champagne Platinum coming here rather than the Supreme. If JP wanted two in this race surely you’d have sent Champ and Birchdale

Any thoughts on Beakstown for this race? I was very impressed with his last run at Warwick and originally had bet him in the AB but covered him now in this race at 14’s. Any thoughts on his chances in this race? Can he win it??

Originally said after Warwick they were going to swerve Cheltenham this year, what’s changed their minds? I’m a big fan though, he’s be on my mind as a back up for battleoverdoyen.

Aah balls, I didn’t know that was the plan, Beakstown is now 13’s from 15’s but he may still be participating?? I’ve got him in a NRNB Lucky 15 so will wait to see what happens closer to race

Point to Point winner so it’s not a huge shock for me.

Hard really to justify that as a reason though... he may he beaten absolute muck, or been left at the last, or only just scraped home.

I wouldn't say on the track he's looked like a step up will suit him personally... but of course the pace of the Supreme/Ballymore may well negate that.

Slight detour, but I should probably make more of an effort to check that PTP wins myself actually with more novice hurdlers... I generally just assume a win is a win and therefore worthwhile! No idea the strength of it if I was being critical of myself. Don't have the time though for that at the moment... probably wouldn't gain enough...

He's definitely been mentioned as a chaser in the making on more than one occasion. That'd usually put me off an outsider in a grade 1 novice.

Not overly surprising as he has been talking him up all season but #AskOlly thinks Brewin'upastorm is his best chance of a Festival winner. Also said he has schooled well since and is fine for the Ballymore after his fall LTO

In Ruby’s latest Racing TV column it very much sounds like Klassical Dream will come here

I’d say both will run where Willie thinks they have the best chance of winning. If the weather stays as dry as it is, that would probably suit Aramon in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle and make it a bit sharp for Klassical Dream who could then step up in trip, but I can’t see it being genuinely good ground on the Tuesday of the Festival.
I would say Aramon is probably a bit quicker and Klassical Dream stays a bit better, but Klassical Dream improved an awful lot from his maiden hurdle at Leopardstown.
To be fair, Aramon improved a good bit from the Royal Bond to win his Grade One at Christmas and both are improving horses.
They both look really well, both worked this morning and they are in good form. As to where they go, I’d say that decision is a bit away from being made if I know Willie!

If you read it properly, and listen to the TV interview, he says if it's genuine good ground, Klassical Dream is likely to step up... but he doesn't think it'd be genuine good ground.

Obviously I'd advise the NRNB double as mentioned previously... but don't go over board. Decision far from made and he does NOT suggest KD is definitely running here

I misread it as he would step up if not good ground. Never mind

Sounds like Allaho isn't coming here

I didn't read it as damning as some seem to think in that KD comes here, far from it in fact.

Rarely on the 'quick' side of good on the first day.

They'll be watering good ground... so I can't see any circumstance where it's 100% ground related.

I don't think Ruby will mind being on the stayer of the two in a Supreme.
