Given the dry ground is not letting up, do you think Al Boum Photo is unlikely to get another run in and be kept for next seasons Gold Cup?

I think only Willie could answer that. He's mentioned it so its a definite possibility.

Maybe even an excuse to pop him in the Ryanair.

There's your gold cup winner

I'm still not convinced.
Can't imagine it can travel that well in a gold cup.
But he looked very good today (against nothing much to be fair)
Love how he quickened away with plenty left though.
I could easily be wrong, but sometimes you got to take a view.

Showed too much toe at the end for me there. He doesn't fit the profile of a Gold Cup winner with the likes of Native River in the field. I suspect he will be seen to best effect in races like the King George

...i’m On Clan des Obeaux @ 50-1 but i’m not convinced. I am useless, though.

Not for me either. Impressive today but Gold Cup will be a different kettle of fish with larger field and different test. One for next year CDO.

All I will add is that whatever beats CDO wins the Gold Cup , he improving fast and travels beautifully throughout a race. He sets the standard and is the one to beat on all known form , should be fav.

100% Should be fav. You know when you've seen one. And he's just that.
Don Cossack was the one when he won at Aintree and punchestown after his Ryan air run. COD last 2 runs are every bit as good.

I wanted to see him again after a superb king George performance.
But was absolutely blown away today.
He's the real deal. Iv no doubt.

No question he did very well today and should be nearer the front of the market, but I'd still have reservations over whether Cheltenham suits him, and the king George performance wasn't superb, race was rubbish.

King George looked rubbish but it was good on the clock they went a good gallop. His price has gone now he's another that can win without any of my money.

What were Nicholl's reasons for bypassing the Festival last year?

He was being looked after last year and don’t think the Fez was ever on the agenda for real. I haven’t backed either but how CDO is almost twice the price of PP is staggering.

It can only be that he has never ran his best races at Cheltenham. The course is a big concern for me but I do think he should be shorter than he currently is.

Scooby said earlier that you know one when you see it - and the best judges in Ireland think they have seen one and that's why Percy is favourite. If you fancy CDO you're banking on him being transformed this season. He's been beaten by Rock The Kasbah, Cloudy Dream, Top Notch, Whisper and Guitar Pete in the past. He also needs to prove he acts around Cheltenham and really stays 3 and a bit on a stiff left handed track.

I only back my own judgement. Personally couldn't care less what the best judges in Ireland think.

It's clear as day he's improved, it was clear as day don cossack had improved. he's been minded all the way up this point, has no miles on the clock.

Imo he wins.
I can't see anything beating him.
