Supreme Novice Hurdle 2019

Very good article in Sundays RP referring to your point. The view was that the Irish trained horses have the upper hand these days, hence a small travelling bunch from this side of the water. I agree with that view as THE festival shows that they can dominate in our own backyard.

They certainly have a lot more strength in depth but that shouldn’t stop people having a go, look at LBAR she’s beaten some of their better novices in their own back yard. I wouldn’t expect to see Altior or BDA go over, but there are pots to be won and it’s a shame really. I think SS heart problems after doing the big three will rule Altior ever getting on a boat.

If Al Dancer (7/2 fav for the richest 2mile handicap hurdle in Europe) wins on Saturday will the 7/2 2nd fav of the maiden hurdle on the same card still be running in this or will the owner think he’s got it covered already?

Mischief making I know but thought provoking?

He did do the artcile where he said he'd run them both.... but it's one thing saying it before...

especially if Angel's Breath wins over further this week

7/2 for angels breath looks worth a risk doesn't it? I know Henderson said Huntington Thursday was he plan but I would of thought 2 miles around Newbury on soft ground would be ideal.

just thinking same, might chance that.

What’s happening with Didtheyleaveuoutto? Is he an intended runner in the Betfair Hurdle do we know? If he won that would become interesting for this

Would want better ground than what is forecast i'm sure i have read somewhere, seems to be a good ground only horse then ?

I Think they should certainly go over. The prize money is so good. Im not holding my breath though what with the flakiness of English trainers.

I’m told Dai Walters leaves it to NH

Not sure a heart problem develops from getting on a boat?

Altior is unlikely to go because they'll flirt with the King George idea a lot more, nothing to do with SS

It’s just my opinion but I think NH regrets running him at Chelt/Aintree/Punch and won’t be doing that again. He ran SS in the Melling chase that year which is what we all expect him to do with Altior this year.

Anyway will stop hijacking this thread.

Any guesses on the ground for the betfair Hurdle? DTLUOT wasn’t mentioned before and I can only see him coming here of the back of a strong run there, for which he will need his ground

Fair enough.

DTLUOT I wanted to go up in trip to the Ballymore, so I'm hoping they run it at a strong pace, he shows a turn of foot but ultimately doesn't win

Not sure how my plan would work out.

Just seen kevin Blake on the ATR/SSR forum thing... they've definitely got the Supreme in their minds - if they're both fit and healthy and working well a week out they'd consider it...

KB also said (paraphrasing) He looked up the stats, plenty of 4yo have tried it, but only 2 with a chance (less than 10/1) and they we're Binocular who was just touched off and Hors La Loi III who won it.

They used to run in it more regularly and win.
Think 8 four year olds have won it in the distant past.

Did a cheeky treble with this for supreme, paisley Park and Sir erec. was bored and had not had one Cheltenham bet yesterday, so that was it.
140 something to one with boost I think.

I hope that this is meant and not a typo... Genius! :highly_amused:

When he beats the forum's good thing in the Coral Cup it may be a little awkward though.....:highly_amused::devilish:
