Triumph Hurdle 2019

Have to eat my words with Sir Erec. He showed an impressive turn of foot today and he'll be even better with a stronger pace to aim at. Reckon he goes off around evens on the day.

It's always surprised me how few 4yo take the Supreme route.
The stiff New Course and extra furlong doesn't suit all 4yo, speedier types are better suited to the Old Course but it seems trainers are reluctant to run their against older horses.
Not sure I've seen a serious contender since Binocular.

Thing you may be spot on with this boopa, especially if Joseph thins his own challengers right down.
What else is there ?
Pic D'ohry ?
credentials are there but even that would be a hopeful one.

I think the price will become pretty short too, he's won the right race, has the right trainer, a high profile horse from the flat and the famous silks...

People will be looking to take him on as that'll make him shorter than he should be

Defi de Seuil was an obvious one for me. but they won the triumph so can't crab too much.

There's loads.
Fusil raffles goes for the Adonis has a very big rep and prior experiance.
Pic if he makes it would have a favourites chance on all known form.
Laskadine is far better than she was allowed to show on debut.
The 2nd today if he ran, would go better in a strongly run race.
Quel destin like gardens of Babylon finds a ton off the bridle and stays all day.
Mullins has 3 up his sleeve that he hasn't ran yet. 2 with prior hurdles experiance in France.
Authorizo won a maiden hurdle for Gordon.
Coeur sublime stays well.
Fakir doudaries is very good and has done more than sir erec.
Who knows if adjali ran his race when he reached at one last time.
He's a huge task on here sir erec. Nothing like the race he just won.

Not convinced.

Not convinced.

I don't need to convince you. You've backed what you've backed. We'll see what happens on the day.
Was a nothing race today compared to the triumph And he won well.
Far bigger task ahead.

I'd maybe give fusil raffles a look when we see it.

Fakir probably won't go here if Erec is fit an well. But would be a potential threat,

Then I'd be interested in the fozzy stack flat horse when it runs next week.

Babylon and Surin have ran identical again today, so the form today looks solid to me.

That's unfair scooby. You have placed great stall on this being the key trial - until now. You can't now call The Spring Juvenile (the single best guide to the Triumph) a nothing race.

Triumph may be no harder than today. It wasn't last year.
The british trained look second division again.
clutching a bit scooby I'm afraid.

Fakir almost certainly goes there. That's very wishful thinking on your part.
And what's the form of gardens of Babylon and surin worth? Tiger tap tap ... they've just won 2 average races beforehand.
Nothing to say there near adjali let alone fakir doudaries and pic D'orhy

You can take the winner and the 2nd out if that. The others wouldn't get near a place.

Babylon will be a contender if strongly run race you say, and then now you query the form of Babylon? If he is going to be a contender, you must rate his previous form even a little?

Today's race panned out very nicely for SE. TTT was boxed in and i think he's a galloper, so that wouldn't have suited him at all- wouldn't have won all the same.

I know zero about Fusil.

If JOB sends one of his elsewhere which its possible he will, it will be Fakir, leaving SE a hotpot.

Not wishful thinking as I couldn't care less. Just logical thoughts.
Why do we spend so much time considering other trainers splitting their best horses but expect Joseph to put them all in the same race.
He might do, but there's a chance if they're all fit and well he splits them up, he didn't enter Fakir in the supreme and ballymore for a laugh.
When he speaks of Fakir he mentions experience (a clue) and when he talks about Babylon (he says he'll see what handicapper does and will need further) another clue.

I Have just heard from a good source that Fakir D has been bought by JP. That would suggest to me (even more so) he will go the Supreme route unless he races them against each other in the Triumph

The owners sold the rest and kept a couple. And now you think joseph could tell them to divert the best horse thats ran to date at the track, avoid the ones they sold and go for the supreme where he'd have an outside chance. They'd have none of that.

If any splits it would be gardens if Babylon up in trip. But would be a slight shame imo. Because he'd have a chance to run into a place in a very strongly run race.

If Jonthehammer's right that comment is the shortest lived in the forum's history. Not the race target thing, The owner thing.

Paul Nicholls on Twitter has confirmed Pic D'Orhy will go straight to the Triumph IF ready in time. No pre festival run for him.
