National Hunt Chase (4 miler) 2019

Iv backed him already at 33s. But he's a horrendous record of injury and we don't even know the other runners yet. 4s is ridiculous at this stage.

I wouldn't be a backer at that price, but equally, I wouldn't want to lay it.

Hendo says he's much easier to train this season and he has been injury free for 18 months. There'll be no 4/1 available on the day, of that I'd be fairly sure.

It absolutely isnt ridiculous when you look at the potential field... Delta Work and Santini still taking a chunk of the market and wont run.

Plenty more ridiculously priced horses at Cheltenham than him.

188 must be regretting that 16/1 they left hanging. Filled in there.

I can. Bet mug football bets for 6 months to go under the radar. Can have what I like on.

OK Corral form there too as Impulsive Star wins the Grade 3 @ Warwick.

This might be completely wide of the mark but I feel that JP targets this race more than the other novice chases at the festival. CoC, Minella Rocco are both recent winners of the race for him when I'm not sure he had better horses in the RSA.

I can imagine he is desperate to win this race every year, given who it is named after.

Any reason why Callet Mad hasn't been priced up for this anywhere? I actually had a gander after he was beaten lto by Harry The Viking giving him a heap of weight over 4m+ but couldn't find anything. Still nothing again today after just being beaten by Impulsive Star despite giving him over a stone. He's a horse I've been sweet on for a while and actually backed him last year for the AB.

He isn't a novice. Won a chase a while ago Luis

Ok Corral to the RSA and Santini sent here? :devilish:

I have the opposite bet!

You could argue that they would be more suited to the races you suggest.

I can't see it happening in honesty, was thinking out loud....

He did look 'speedier' than Santini though.

He did and took a pull through the race. Imagine the scenes if that happened:sorrow:

In all seriousness, and in the context that Santini is clearly the teachers pet, would it be so crazy?

OK Corral showed plenty of gears there to my eye, and appears to have improved for the good ground. Santini has only ever raced on soft, and the one race with good in the description he was a plugging on 3rd. I know we all put it down to Kempton being a tight track but Santini is more of the relentless galloping type. If the ground came up on the good side I could certainly see them thinking about it.

And we can't say that running in the 4 miler means he isn't a Gold Cup candidate either.

*cue wave of comments about what did he beat*

I think its very hard not to talk about the possibility as that was an RSA performance all day long. But they had a clear plan and I dont see why they would change it tbh. The horse hasnt proved he isnt the right type for the 4 Miler today... just that he may be even better than everyone thought.

I think FM makes the most pertinent point about JP loving this race. Id say he would rather win this than the RSA tbh. Edwulf was another classy horse who went for it.

I suppose a lot will depend on whether JP's money is down or not. I've a feeling it might be.

It was impressive, the one thing I will say is would you have Secret Investor 6 lengths off of winning an RSA, OK Corral was asked for an effort and it's not as if he won on the bridle.

On a line through Rocky's Treasure you'd say OK Corral has a fair enough chance against Santini, but that was OK Corral's 2nd run over fences, as opposed to Santini's debut, not to mention OK Corral getting 5lb from RT and Santini having to do it off levels.

All exchange money points towards NH Chase for OK Corral and Santini RSA currently.
