Melon is the new Tent. Never wins but gets placed in March!

25/1, 3 places :sorrow: do you know what the reason was?

Pulled out on advice by the vet.
Expect he'll go to America now.
Sharjah obviously come on a ton since then anyway

Non runner*Bedrock (GB) (veterinary advice)

Why are they so oblivious to the fact samcro isn’t a 2 miler. Try him over a trip before spitting your dummy

Patrick Mullins always thought highly of Sharjah. I remember him saying 'no horse should be odds on against Sharjah' referring to Samcro before the Deloitte. He also said Sharjah likes good ground. I backed him for the Supreme after he flopped in the Deloitte, hoping he would improve on better ground. The ground went against him all season. He is finally starting to show why they rated him.

Why obviously ? I am seriously confused by 2m Hurdle form.

He's just gone one to win the best 2 trials easily. And samcro was infront of him that day. He also made the running.

Not really worth discussing now though anyway to be fair as bedrock won't be facing him again.

Fair enough

One thing probably worth noting on sharjah is, if it's soft ground I have a bad bet.
********

On plans for Sharjah he said: "There is the Dublin Festival back here and he'll probably get an entry there but he'll be entered now for the Champion Hurdle and he might just go straight there.

“We normally get nice ground in Cheltenham. He looks to be an improving horse. He's only five, he's a very young horse and he's improving all the time.

“He looked to be very unlucky in the novice hurdle here last year and that's why we felt he was a decent horse.

“People were maybe surprised that he beat Faugheen in the Morgiana but when you go back and bring that form into it it did give him a chance.

“I think it's fair to say though that he has improved more than I anticipated that he would improve.

"The Stewards wished to interview Iain Jardine, trainer, in relation to the reason of 'vet's advice' offered for the non-runner Bedrock in this race. As the trainer or his representative was not present at the meeting the Stewards referred the matter to the CEO of the IHRB for further investigation"

I'd love to know if Labaik will be seen on a racecourse sometime before the festival. Time is running out to get him fit after a lay off but with the division looking so open I'd love a nod to get him onside.

Labaik is a funny one. Even if cleared to run with all the criminal/owner issues, he was supposedly retired due to injury and even so he's bound to have not been in a proper stable and living like a normal horse for a year and a half.

Racing’s version of Usain Bolt eating chicken nuggets prerace

Leicester, Labaik and Trump - the easiest treble of all time. Everyone put their Mon Mome winnings on it. Game by the bollocks.

If it helps I actually had both Labaik and trump:triumphant:....huge £5 on each

I could only put 0.75ew on the 14s as I’d rather take a shorter price and see the ground before having a proper bet. Certainly a live chance. He was my main fancy for the Supreme last year but really never got the opportunity to show his best, does seem to be very ground dependent
