FJ Ante Post yankee

We have completely different approaches Scooby. I'll back multiple horses in most races at the festival but I'm a long way from making a book on these races. On the rare occasion that I see a horse I really like, I will back my opinion and stick with it.

If Samcro is beaten at the weekend, I will reassess my position.

Fwiw I'd be suprised if samcro dosent win at the weekend.

I don't back a full book of all runners in a race, knowhere near. I take a full view of the ones I believe can win as I go along no matter how big the odds before they get anywhere near fav.
. I don't green up at all no matter the returns or prices, So i can end up with quite a few in a race.
But I may be wrong in calling that a book.

I'd agree everyone has there own ways of going about it and what works best for them aslong as we're making a profit it's all good. Being entertained and coming out with profit, theres not many hobbies you can do that with.

I guess everyone's approach is different, most probably due to circumstance. For instance I just don't have the time to watch the majority of races and have my finger on the button to take a price two fences from home etc...

So I will take a view either before or after (rightly or wrongly) a certain race. I get enjoyment out of it and if come March my bank balance is a little healthier then even better.

:)

Thats what the toilets at work are there for aren't they? :highly_amused:

£110 invested for a bit over £500k. I am being more selective this year ;)

What happened to '2 mil minimum mayo' ?

Is it time to start daily Yankee threads?

I hadn’t joined when this thread was made but I have to admit, I love a Yankee, a trixie and a Canadian.

I quite like:
Hollowgraphic - 7/1
Burning Ambition - 8/1
Apples Shakira - 7/2
If The Cap Fits - 8/1

Probably best to get a consensus from everyone involved as was mentioned earlier but or what it's worth if i were to pick four decent priced shouts now it would be

Supreme: If The Cap Fits
RSA: Monalee
Cross Country: Cause Of Causes
JLT: Willoughby Court

Monalee winning at the Dublin racing festival has seen him shorten up for the RSA... goes with every chance at 3/1 now (was 7/1)

Cause of Causes had his first run of the season too which is a big plus for that selection.

If The Cap Fits
didn't run this weekend but had a nice-ish collateral boost as Simply The Betts (who he'd beaten 14L) finished ahead of Claimantakinforgan when just being beaten at Muss today. Looks to be the standout British contender...

Willoughby Court Nothing particularly positive from the weekend other than the winner of the Flogas likely to go up in trip but he is still fav...

Good selections...

I believe it was around mid Feb we started deciding who was going to pick the daily yankee's and so on... probably worth thinking about that now...?

I have placed this yankee and couldn't remember why. Looks to be a decent bet at this stage.

A run for your the money would be lovely lads, this weekend has gone well for Monalee & ITCF's chances, possibly even WC given Sutton Place's below par run

What was the ante post festival yankee that you guys did?

Was it Monalee/Willoughby Court/COC/ITCF??

Yeah that was it alright Jonny.

4752/1 at the time with bet365.

There was a more speculative e/w yankee aswell i think.

Might be an idea to get another forum volunteer to nominate an ante post Yankee before Bet365 go nrnb across the board. Since the Stable Stars competition isn’t going this year maybe if we each pick 6 winning selections from Kempton on Boxing Day and the closest to the scoop 6 earns the right to nominate the main yankee on behalf of the forum (maybe taking into account some of the forum favorites thus far)

Or a better challenge may be to select a Boxing/Stephens Day yankee and the highest priced winner is nominated?

I’ll kick it off

12:40 City Island
12:50 Didtheyleaveuouto
13:55 Topofthegame
15:40 Politologue

12-50 - The big bite.
1-20 - Turtle wars.
1-55 - Bags groove.
2-30 - Ifthecapfits.
Rubbish picks , but all ridden by ??........ " NOEL " Fehily :highly_amused:
