Scooby. I think we are all aware that you rate your own judgement highly :highly_amused: But you cant know what never happened.

There was very little between Monalee and ABP in their runs either side of Cheltenham, and I think both are pretty solid benchmarks. I think there would have been very little between them again.

This is the joy or racing... lots of different opinions.

He's ran on every single race he's had. He was niggled. Been asked for nothing.

Anyway He fell, hopefully pp goes Lexus and we'll see.

But even if he wins the Lexus going away it wont prove he would have stayed on that day!

To my eyes it was a tired fall in the RSA, he didn’t seem to have a lot left in the tank.

Watch his other races for context. if he fell at the last against shattered love in fairyhouse would you say he was beat? Be honest.

I'd rate my own judgement plenty high enough.

Your own judgement is 100% the main thing as it's your own money I assume.

Comparing the other race with the RSA and how much weight it gives is just as difficult as really knowing what would have happened had he not fell at cheltenham. My earlier comments relate to your assertion that he would definitely have been within 2 lengths of Percy.
And that's impossible to know. but in my opinion your theory is less likely than him being beaten further.
It;s not like it's a proven Cheltenham hill gobbler is it ?

That's how I saw it too Sean.

I don't hold much love for ABP, I think he's a good horse, but not one I am keen to have onside, that said, those with differing opinions (that be Scooby and co.) are entitled to have them and back accordingly as he has done.

Bellshill would have won the Irish National if he hadn't got distracted, but that's another story......he'll win the Gold Cup and all will be forgotten :devilish:

After all that iv had an extra point ew on ABP at 33s for good measure :)

ABP was in a better position to challenge at Fairyhouse than Cheltenham and that was 2m4.

I had a big lay on PP in the RSA and a sizeable bet on ABP at Punchestown.. Hopefully get it back in the Gold Cup.

:highly_amused::highly_amused: Brilliant!

Talking of For Good Measure (indirectly), one for a handicap ;)

365 have Shattered Love at 33/1

They also have Min the same price :devilish:

Hated the ground but hopefully no damage done. May get a break.

Stat of the day:
Since it became a G1, no horse has won the Leopardstown Christmas Chase (Lexus/Savills) on seasonal debut. Has no bearing on the Gold Cup but puts the difficulties facing Presenting Percy and Al Boum Photo at Leopardstown in perspective.

And Willie tried it last year with Yorkhill and that went tits up from then on.

The last of the 33/1 gone on Shattered Love.
25/1 across the board now.

On another note, I just started thinking about Elegant Escape for the race, as a big boat ..... but he's only 40/1, I was hoping for 66/1 at least.

It's a similar stat for the King George for at least the last 11 editions.
