To Win 'Any Race' 2019

Who took 4/1 on Altior to have an unbeaten season? :)

Well done to those who did. Was the best value of those highlighted (I didn't back any of them)

but well done Ista, knew you were keen on that.

Should be collecting at Sandown?

Will be a bloomin' exciting bet if they go for the King George :highly_amused:

You can get 18/1 The Storyteller on Ladb ...

Imagine them trying to get him qualified for the Pertemps :highly_amused:

Coral Cup most likely, he'd get given a fair few lbs by the handicapper though on his Irish mark? Or is that unfair?

Could mix with them in the Ryanair perhaps, his G1 win was obviously really lucky, but I also wouldn't compeltely rule it out and say he's behind all of them because Elliott was running everything and it was an after thought? If they campaign him as a proper horse over fences then drop him into a handicap hurdle that'll be a very short priced horse on the day?

Fully expect Coral Cup now. Still 16s with WH (boost available).

Can't send him anywhere else surely?

Who knows. They might use his hurdles mark at the Dublin racing festival yet. Can't see him shortening any race after that .

Can't see them wasting his mark at all, as he won't be winning any of the other races!

I just don't tink he'll open up for the Coral Cup at any bigger?

I've not gone in again but I'll keep my eye on it.

I took a punt on Laurina and Samcro too, one of those already on the fire but I'm hopeful Laurina stays racing Mares all year....

I’ve just gone in on The Storyteller in this market at 18/1 (boosted with Ladbrokes). I think he wins the Coral Cup!

Two important reasons behind this bet:
- A festival winner already, GE will surely want him to be part of his squad again this year
- I believe Gordon will have him in the race he has the best chance of winning which means he will not go off anywhere near 18/1 because either:

a) He’ll be running in the Ryanair after having proved himself good enough in this sphere by winning something like the John Durkan. If he does so, he becomes one of the favourites for the Ryanair being a C&D winner and Grade 1 performer.
b) He’ll be running in the Coral Cup after not quite proving himself in the big league over fences. If this happens he becomes one of the hot pots of the festival and goes off at 4/1.

GE in his stable tour: “Don’t be surprised if he ends up back over hurdles, as he looks well-handicapped and could have a big one in him.”

I just can’t imagine there’s anywhere he’d rather exploit that mark than at the Festival.

I’ve gone in again at the boosted 18s and is now one of my biggest winners of the festival. There’s no way GE chooses a Dublin festival handicap over a winner at Cheltenham. He’s the smashed in 4/1 favourite of the Coral Cup.

Think this was the first mention for The Storyteller in this thread.

Not a novice to add to the above list but i'm also very keen to get The Storyteller added in this market.

I was hoping to find some 20's any race but the biggest offered is 16/1 (have requested a price with other firms). 100% a horse i'd want in this market, as he really could go anywhere and that's before GE opened up the option of hurdles! An OR of 155 means he'd need to drop a few pounds to be considered for any of the handicap chases really if he wasn't able to improve on that mark and go on to compete in the Ryanair / Gold Cup etc. The fact he has a hurdles rating of 142 though - 13lbs lower than his chasing mark could be huge! He may well just be a better horse over fences but I remember Elliott saying he was his best handicapped horse for the festival in 2017 and he was as low as 9/2 fav for the Martin Pipe that year before injury so he could be chucked in off that mark (what many people considered at the time) and he could very well line up for that race 2 years on

Again a horse made for this market this season.

VF puts the case forward very well too as highlighted in post #186

I can see why it's gaining a bit of momentum. Shame we can't have it in a multiple :triumphant:

You can , if you do it with Coral .

Added Angels Breath to the Hills market at 25/1 which looks fair. Shame they dont do the cash out like Bet365 but it does look a fair price.

Big difference though in price, think on this occasion id rather take the 25/1 but good to know so thanks BigChaang

Sure do ... @16-1. Did it earlier on.

I know you can as I’ve done this before as well (Multi with one selection any race with Coral), but it’s definitely not allowing me to do it anymore. Anyone else have this issue?
