Arkle 2019

Just got back from walking round 4 Ladbrokes shops to get on Cilaos Emery any race, hes 25/1 in shops which looks a cracking price as mentioned. I remember at the start of last year hearing "rumours" they thought an awful lot of him. This market is priced up all wrong at the moment and he's a huge player for me, in fact its been all wrong for a while!!!!! Ill wait for an entry now before committing any more cash on him though managed to get on 4pts win

Have they removed the any race market? Must have been your 4 points :)

FWIW, and probably means little at this stage, but had prices requested for CE for both this race and the JLT by PP, they offered 20/1 for both races, but were not adding him to their website

In addition to this Getabird was offered at 12/1 for the JLT, but again, was dial-a-bet only!

I think Ladbrokes must of just realised that they have layed Cilaos Emery at 25/1 any race and have Kalashnikov at 5/1 for the Arkle are currently trying to work out who they need to fire!!!!

It was down also down with Coral but back up again now, CE still 25s, hopefully be the same with Laddies

I'd only back again if it was each way now. Disappointed it isn.t at the price he is.

You'd be a brave man to back Paloma blue today odds on, or for the arkle for that matter. He's an awful jumper of a hurdle I'll be interested to see his chasing technique and if he gives them more respect. It's a very limited field today there's no arkle horse in here. but I could even see jetz putting it up to him who will be going over alot further when he steps up in grade.

HdB does seem to have a knack of getting them jumping fences really well - I suppose that has been factored in to his price.

Very much so. Paloma Blue would not be the first of his to improve when sent chasing so I would be more positive than negative on him taking to fences well. He came home strong in the Supreme so he’s not far off the mix if the potential is found.

If anyone spots Duca de Thaix entered up in any UK novice chase handicaps then please put it in here.
It's an absolutely obvious Handicapper for the festival, the Close brothers or Brown Advisory, depending on which side of 145 the British handicapper puts him.
Is he quoted on any race market ?

After Paloma Blue’s disappointing chase debut I’m ready for another top up on CE. Unfortunately it does look as though Ladbrokes dropping of the any race market over the weekend was intentional, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was because BillyMag was hitting their shops for the 25/1 on CE any race. That price is clearly wrong as they’ve only priced him at 20/1 to win the Arkle. Incidentally Coral (part of the same company with Ladbrokes of course) still has CE at 25/1 on their any race market despite also having him at 20s for the Arkle. I reckon they’ll cotton onto this tomorrow so might have one more point at 25s this evening, although am tempted to see if the 28s boosted reappears with Ladbrokes.....decisions

Cheers RC. Took 25/1 on CA, finally pulled trigger.

I had him backed NRNB for all the handicap hurdles last year but he blew out in the end. He looks like he’s going down the same route again for sure.

Not seen a price - don't like requesting horses anyway myself but probably one for NRNB and a few darts than any race?

They priced him as if he was going down the CH route. And haddnt adjusted accordingly. Last year's novices looking a weak bunch already. I don't even think he'd have to improve for a fence to be bang there. Certainly has to be able to jump one though.

Annoying they've done that. 1 of only 2 accounts I have. And only 1 that had an any race market.

Where would you send Cilaos Emery and Getabird at this stage?

The obvious one in the RSA is Next Destination but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot for Mullins to pick from this year...
