    Henderson Chaser misses races Shocker

"Unfortunately, Hadrian's gave the joint a bang and he must now be considered unlikely to run at Aintree. We'll continue to monitor the situation and he's exercising in our newly installed water treadmill here at Seven Barrows. He's improving but the National must be very doubtful."

Henderson added: "I've put him in the Scottish National and hopefully he'll run there or perhaps return to Sandown for race he won last season [bet365 Gold Cup]."

The Sandown end of season feature is also a likely target for Bobs Worth, the 2013 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner who disappointed at the Cheltenham Festival this time.

I didnt fancy him at all ...took a lot of encouragement from the saddle in Bet365 last year.

More than bad luck at Hendersons ?

These things go in cycles. Nicholls lost a load at the start of 2013-14 season.

Jonjo is as bad if not worse this year.

O'Neill said: "Unfortunately Merry King is going to miss the Grand National and the remainder of the season as a breathing abnormality has surfaced.

"After a routine piece of work we were not happy with the horse and the vets have discovered he may have developed a breathing problem.

"It's bad news for his owner Frank Gillespie and for the yard as he had been pleasing in his build up but now the problem has surfaced we have no choice but to miss the race."

The 10-3s will probably all get in ? 2 defo out. Nicholls dithering on two of his and going to be one or two fall aside.

There are 6 on 10-2. Does Phil Smith reassesses these or do they ballot ? Not all getting in IMO.

Brian Hughes on Baileys Concerto if makes it in

The news about Merry King and Home Farm means that Court By Surprise should now make the cut for the Grand National and become a first runner in the race for his trainer, Emma Lavelle. Meanwhile all the horses set to carry 10st 2lb are currently just outside the safety limit of 40 runners and connections must hope for further withdrawals at the next entry stage on Monday.

Among those fretting over such matters is the Cumbrian-based Dianne Sayer, whose Baileys Concerto is among those on 10st 2lb. “Brian Hughes schooled him over the National-style fences at Malton this morning,” Sayer said.

“I think we caught the worst weather of the winter – we had wind, hail and rain – but the schooling itself went well. It’s another step on the road towards the Grand National and we are very happy with him.

“He had a bit of heat and swelling in his leg when he came back from the Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster, which I was initially very concerned about but it was just him over-reacting as usual.

“We lost a bit of time because of that and there was a suspicion when we ran him at Kelso that he wasn’t quite right but it would have meant a long break between Doncaster and Aintree. I wasn’t overly disappointed with that run and it will have hopefully helped us.

“If he doesn’t get in, then we will give the Topham Chase a go instead.”

I though Triolo had a great shout at this but also went into Nickys room 101 for chasers.

I have backed Ballycasey - a dodgy jumper who looks tripless or a Mullins plot ?

Lord Windermere (33-1) - Trainer Jim Culloty said Robbie McNamara is likely to ride the 2014 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, replacing Davy Russell, and the horse may wear cheekpieces and/or blinkers in the race.
Spring Heeled - The top weight's stablemate is set to be partnered by Nick Scholfield now that Sam Winner appears a likely non-runner, Culloty told the Irish Independent.

Goonyella (25-1) - Midlands National winner, trained by Jim Dreaper, is probably going to miss the Irish National at Fairyhouse on Monday in the hope he makes the cut for Aintree. Tony Martin is following a similar plan with Gallant Oscar (25-1).
Some bookmakers are offering non-runner no bets, with stakes refunded if your selection does not line up.

They could make the reserve list and wait to see if something drops out.

                            Home farm a Non Runner

Lord Windermere and Spring Heeled have been confirmed "definite runners" in the Crabbie's Grand National at Aintree on Saturday week.

Though the former was pulled up in his defence of the Cheltenham Gold Cup last month, Jim Culloty's nine-year-old is set to carry top weight on Merseyside.

Stablemate Spring Heeled, who is also owned by Dr Ronan Lambe , has been purposefully preserved for the National, having had just one run all season.

"Both horses are definite runners," a spokesperson for Culloty's yard told the Daily Mail.

"There are no concrete jockey plans at the moment."

Compatriot Home Farm seems highly unlikely to make the trip across the Irish Sea.

Trained in County Waterford by Henry de Bromhead, the eight-year-old has struggled in top company this season and was also pulled up in the Gold Cup.

Home Farm is instead likely to compete at the Punchestown Festival.

"I've got to talk to the owners, but I'm 95 per cent sure he won't run," De Bromhead told the Guardian.

"He's only eight. We might be over for next year but I think we'll keep him for Punchestown this time."

I thought that a few days ago but no so sure now. I think we are down o 47 on the list now.

                                Robbie Mac

Like Majestic Concorde, Lord Windermere carries the colours of Dr Ronan Lambe, who is also likely to represented in the National by Spring Heeled.

"It's a great ride to get and I'm looking forward to it," said the jockey.

"I've ridden him before in a Grade One in Leopardstown and I was supposed to ride him in the Hennessy there as well, but I broke my collarbone the day before. I'm delighted to get back on him.

"I've just had one ride in the race before, that's all. I had a great ride the whole way. He just made a mistake at the Canal Turn, he hit, turned and my saddle slipped and I came off.

"I sat on Lord Windermere last week and he's come out of the Gold Cup very well. He was bucking and squealing.

"I'm schooling him at Jim Culloty's on Friday morning."

Nick Scholfield is in the frame to partner Spring Heeled and will sit on him on Friday.

"It's not set in stone, yet. I'm going over to school him on Friday," said the jockey.

Scholfield's best finish in the big race was when he was third on Teaforthree in 2013.
