The one horse, right now, I’d want to be backing for next year’s festival.

Elliott’s already said post race he’ll be lightly campaigned for the same race next year.

3/1 is rubbish though, you need to take your 5/1 on William Hill. Exceptionally priced market leader.

    • I've asked Paddy Power to price up Quai De Bourbon for next years BANC. They've offered a price of 50/1 which I think is very fair.

Ruby Walsh has been keen on QDB for the Pipe on the PP podcast for a while now and, unlike Sa Majeste and others, he hasn't baulked at the 3/1 price. He still fancies him for the race. He did give us GDC 3 years ago in the same race. I think they might think a lot of him at Closutton.

To my eye, he's one we can be fairly certain will step up to 3 miles and go over a fence next year; I can't see him going down the Turners route; he doesn't have the speed.

Keeping in mind that Spanish Harlem was out the back of the tele in the Pipe last year and was 50/1 after the race, I'm happy to take the risk at those odds. TWAF is only 40/1 with Hills.

…thanks for highlighting, suspect that’ll get a haircut soon.

          • Could someone please request a price for Chigorin for next years BANC? Only one of my bookies pricing it up so far is 365 at 40/1. Was hoping for bigger.

Jade De Grugy clipped to 20s. Was indeed a over reaction after the race.

Could get away with sticking at 2m and being an Arkle horse if he's a brilliant jumper........ and so it begins again.

Yeah I thought that too. A lot to ask a 5yo to take to fences and go up to 3 miles. Ah this is this good part where speculation is naturally part of the game. Can’t have Willie naming a target now.

                          • Wouldn't be surprised if they kept him over hurdles for a season since he will only be 5

I'd need it to be confirmed he was going chasing before getting involved

                            • The 4 turning 5 season is a proper tough one unless you're a proper animal, what France do with them is great and have their own program, I'm happy to hold off on him but will be one to keep an eye on as willie told the media he's one to keep an eye on at the start of the season and seems to think the world of him

I'd agree with you here, looks to have all the attributes for a top chaser but at his age a quiet season hurdling would be ideal, 1 run at Xmas then stayers hurdle.
with all the ammunition willie has there's no need to rush. And he could do with a decent shot at the stayers.
