Fair play for winning on EW market... but that turners fell apart, 4 runners at the festival is shocking, made worse with those two not even featuring

    • Grey Dawning......

“There has been a lot written, and said, that he is going to the Brown Advisory, but both races are under consideration. I’m very much aware of the ground, and to some degree opposition. He would have won over an extended two and a half miles at Cheltenham in December, but he made a bad mistake at two out which stopped him winning.

“The horse that won that day, Ginny’s Destiny, who we were giving weight to, is favourite in some places for the Turners. If you only had the entry in the Turners I don’t think people would be thinking he can’t win that.

"There is no chance he will run in the Turners if it is good to soft as he would want it softer. If it was soft then the Turners very much comes into it. His first run at Exeter was a great run, and we knew he would improve a great deal from it, and he has. He has gone on to win a graduation chase easily before getting beaten at Cheltenham where only the mistake beat him and anyone who thinks otherwise is inaccurate.

“He bolted up back over three miles at Warwick where he beat a good field. He is in very good form, and he is working well at home. The track is not an issue as we have seen that already as he has acted around there and whichever race he goes for he is clearly going to be a massive player. I think the faster they go the better it will be as he is a high class horse.

“He handled Aintree fine and he went to Cheltenham in December and was fine. He is not a fretter. He is our big Grade One player.”

      • Hunters Yarn now solid 10-1ish on exchange….Bren gradually shortening as FV shortens for Turners, which would make sense

        keep the faith

As a FTF, SAF and monty backer for the BANC il have to have a couple of disaster doubles featuring him if he lines up against them.

Think the ground is important to him regardless of trip he stays all day

Could be a grand national horse one day

          • Has something else come out re Grey Dawning ?

Interesting exchange moves - has Turners decision been more made than they said ?

I think people are maybe just seeing Turners mentioned as a real option and getting ahead of themselves.

If there's truly no chance he goes to the Turners on good to soft, then I don't see how a decision could be made. It's good to soft a lot of the time at Cheltenham and nobody has a clue what the weather is going to be like yet.

              • Quite an easy decision re Grey Dawning IMO. He's not beating FTF so just back him for the Turners NRMB. As has been said, clearly he's ground dependant so no decision has been made yet. BANC was always the first choice before FTF arrived on the scene.

                • 1 win in the last 10 years for horses that have never run over 3m (fairly sure all 9 won over the distance too) and the ground saw L'Homme Presses 2 main rivals drop out on the day.

The unwavering support for Fact to File seems to be OTT in my opinion.
The bumper form wouldn't appear to be holding up in the novice hurdle ranks, he's lost to American Mike and then won a match race where wins and losses are often over exaggerated and he's seen as bullet proof by some. The mind boggles.

Fact to file hasn't had a race since he was beat by American Mike, so wouldn't be sure about him being that much of a certainty yet. A beginner's chase and a two horse race where the other horse was out of sorts, not what I'd consider a banker for all he does look impressive. Grey dawnings win last time was as good or better than anything fact to file has done so far imo.

                    • Broadway Boy looks pretty decent value in NHC , which looks like where he is going

Form looks as strong as most of ones shorter

                      • Also, Sandor Clegane might appeal to ew thieves in Browns as one of few seems likely to run in v small field

Mullins will have at least one other for Paul to ride.
