…William Hill fined ?19.2m for social responsibility failings, including money laundering. Glad I withdrew most of my Cheltenham returns

Just once I'd like them to be investigated for restricting people with no warning or reason

Just enforce total separation of casino and sports betting.

Just read the WH article in the guardian (whilst chewing my tofu), some of those customers need a good slap as well as the companies. Gambling and losing that level of money is plain ridiculous.

Controversial view I know, but for me responsibility lies firmly with the punter.
Gambling isn’t illegal and if someone has control/discipline issues then it’s their responsibility to get help, no-one performs intrusive financial checks when you spend 20k on a car or holiday, why should you need to disclose your most private financial matters to complete strangers if you want a bet ?
These issues won’t just relate to gambling there are likely to be other weaknesses in their DNA, Paul Merson, who has done as much harm as anyone in getting more regulation into the industry, has had a lifetime of alcohol and drug issues too, but the media portray gambling as the source of all evil.
Has anyone ever been subjected to affordability checks when buying a round in a pub ?
Or when booking a table at a nice restaurant, does anyone get asked for bank statements so the waiter can decide whether you can afford the bill ?
It’s a war on gambling and gambling hasn’t got a clue how to defend itself…

Online bookmakers should look at making deposit limits mandatory for everyone and be like betfair/paddy and have them take a week to change

And even the option of setting a maximum bet size they are willing to place

I imagine a lot of the problems are caused by people chasing losses and spending a lot more than they normally would after a poor day

These limits won't effect people in control but will stop a good few of the problem gamblers from chasing losses day after day

People who usually have ?10 a bet suddenly placing ?1000 a bet wouldn't be able to if when they were in control they'd set themselves a ?50 max bet size

Not that the bookies really want people to be in control of their gambling as a significant percentage of the money they make must come from problem gamblers chasing losses

Obviously they should also be forced to guarantee laying bets to all customers up to a certain amount and not restrict winners to pennies or close their accounts but this never gets mentioned when looking at gambling reforms

                Mirazur West
                Mahon’s Way
                He’s My Hero

The first two are high profile but the third ran second in a decent point. I’d rule out the Denmark colours as they don’t strike me as being bumper horses, although they’d probably win something weaker.
So all three have stood their ground which means we’ll get a decent contest. My main fear is that we’re going to see a huge amount of Social Media attention during this down time after Cheltenham. I’ve already seen our very own RTC post twice about Mirazur West in the last couple of days. If he were to win, it’s going to be amplified across Twitter and we’ll have every man and his dog requesting prices and trashing them.

Nothing against RTC as I follow his channel and like his posts but this is the reality we’re dealing with now. He has 20k+ followers so the amplification will happen quickly.

I’m not going to back Mirazur West for next season before he runs and I’m at peace with the fact, should he win, he’ll likely be a shocking price.

I think every post you have done has been about the course/tickets/packages.. Just email the racecourse mate, I'm sure they'll have a better idea than us.

Sorry chap, I know you're after advice as you keep posting the same things over and over - but all the experience everyone has of hospitality was given to you when you first posted. Ultimately it's your call, most people on here are amongst the general admission.

FWIW, I did Chez Rous once and it was lit, but also I wasn't paying so that's a caveat. I did have a piss next to Rod Stewart though.

I was also once in a bookmaker's box, but again, through work. They were the headline sponsor that day, so a good view. The woman serving us called me common cos I asked for 3 drinks at once

Does anyone know of ways to easily run off reports for daily runners matching certain criteria?

for example I might want to know all runners sired by Galileo running today - how can I do this? (Preferably a free option lol)

Not free but horseracebase.com is superb for all different types of systems reminders. To take yours further, you could get a midnight/morning/midday alert when any Galileo runner runs at Doncaster on soft ground, having been placed on the AW last time out - not sure why you'd want to know that specific information but you could.

More likely, you could look at any Galileo, who's having their first run in a handicap and is dropping in Grade from their last race, while stepping up in distance
