at this stage would GB based horses be a safer option ?

The archie fudge factor has an extra dimension for the Mares Novice - is it trained by WP Mullins? Much as I like Gypsy Island, and I did back her last year, with her missing the last Festival even 10/1 isn't remotely attractive this far out.

Loved the minders celebrations after the victory could tell he had a few bob on him boy went mental
...Melon was beaten a nose by Samcro and is available @ 20-1 for the Ryanair. Mullins has already stated it will be stepping up in trip so it seems the obvious target (even though I highlighted 66-1 for the GC on another thread).

Probably enough doubt regarding targets to include either.

I’m still of the opinion the any race market can be exploited for one or more of the selections at this stage with the likes of Fakir d’Oudaries 14-1 with Hills.

Any yankee in April is a triumph of hope over experience so I propose a barge-pole job (as in wouldn't touch them with) because they've achieved their prominence by losing or by hype:

          Abacadabras
          Ballyadam
          Samcro
          Santini

          That should upset a few.

Why does Samcro make the list Archie? He is a duel grade 1 festival winner, can understand the others.

Basically, perfectly decent but over-hyped. I'd much rather have Melon each way in the any race market next year although I doubt that either will win.

How about an 'if only they hadn't fallen' yankee

Elixir D'Ainey 33s or Captain Guiness 20s for the Arkle
Brewinupastorm 66s for the Champion Chase
Itchy Feet 40s for the Ryanair
Column of Fire - take your pick

Could substitute in Goshen but he's priced as if he jumped the last

Not sure it’s going to be popular and I’ve mentioned previously but going to put forward klassical dream.

Supreme winners are normally a short price for the Arkle, granted it was a year ago but just comparing Shishkin 4/1 - 7/2 and Klassical dream 20/1 - 25/1 is a massive difference. You have to forgive him this season where he disappointed, but he jumps a hurdle like he needs a fence and is a multiply grade 1 winner and he’s shown he can grind out a win in a tough finish. That supreme form doesn’t look half bad with Itchy feet / Fakir in behind.

He’s also from the right stable for an Arkle winner, Willie Mullins can turn this horse around !

My money is already down but I do think he’s currently overlooked at the price !

I’d want to know he was definitely going chasing, have there been any quotes? One of the rare ones that haven’t been nibbled at so might be able to get the same price in September just like the good old days

Not seen any quotes to be honest, but I just can’t imagine they’ll go over hurdles again next season after his champion hurdle campaign went so pear shaped reminds me a bit of Samcro’s season over hurdles - disaster. Ruby commented a few times on that road to Cheltenham show he jumps like he needs a fence.

Worth remembering that both Klassical Dream and Saldier were both favs for the champion hurdle at different points of the season only for neither to make the race, so I’d say it’s far from certain chasing is the plan next season or even any season for that matter.
I’ve backed Saldier but if KD was to remain over timber he’d be one with a serious chance for me, horses that miss their festival targets are often ignored the year after as people remember the most recent form available...

Klassical dream surely go’s over fences this year after his hurdling completely went to pot. Saldier was once mooted as a future chaser and would be interested what the plans are for him. Maybe due to him being hard to keep fit they’ll just keep him over hurdles in the hope of getting a clear run at the champion hurdle.

Possibly KS, but we won’t know for sure until Oct/Nov time and all the time there’s a doubt it is a risk to back the horse/include in multis...

Being a fan of the ANY race facility with Hills I quite like the following, unfortunately if wont permit Abacadabras ANY race as well but it seems more likely currently that his target is the CH, so worth risking. Also unlikely that anybof those below will end up in the same race.

                              # Monkfish ANY race 8-1
                              # Ferny Hollow ANY race 10-1
                              # Samcro ANY race 10-1
                              # Abacadabras CH 8-1

                              Pays 14, 359 -1

I’m terms of targets I tend to agree with this as my thinking would be saldier will still go for the champion hurdle so would leave the door open for Klassical Dream to go chasing.

Saldier will only be 7 next season so champion hurdle still well on the cards imo.

They will both be 7........pick wisely
