Hello Fat Jockeys,

Yeah I think so too, his jumping was just ok through the race too and was never too far behind. When Rachael asked him there was not much response. Now for all that Galopin looks a weapon, Bob has one of the best engines we’ve seen over the last couple of years in novice hurdling and novice chasing so there has to be some sort of issue.

….not heard anything from HdB but really hope they put him away for the season. I have him to go unbeaten but I’m more concerned he looked in such a poor state at the end of that race.

You could be on the money. HDB said Rachel reported Bob making a funny noise after he jumped the fourth last.

        • The jockey also said, "At the fourth-last, I thought I'd be travelling a bit better", so never particularly going well.

I'm guessing the noise from the horse was along the lines of, "f*** this for a game of soldiers, he's just too good".

          • It was just about my best result of the week but not sure I'll be quite as lucky again!

Bob won me a good chunk and had El Barra at 250/1 ew and 125/1 ew, so neither of those were going to collect. I might still have won the biggest winning distance of the week as I'd be fairly sure GDC was going to put a huge distance between himself and BO by the line.

Hope the tests result in him being put away for the season. I’d hate them to be inconclusive and they run a sick horse.

I got stuck into him in the ring and felt compelled to apologise when picking up.
For me Bob was totally out on his feet and interesting that a few judges are saying he should now target the Champion Hurdle…

I was surrounded by GDC punters. Think I was the only one out of our group of 8 who backed Bob.

I didn't cheer. Can't celebrate under those circumstances.

Same. As a Bob and El Barra @ 250/1 backer, the difference in return from before the last (i.e. zero) to after it was crazy. A bit of a hollow victory, and thank goodness GDC was OK. But i guess that's racing and makes up for the times you feel you've been a little robbbed, TMSG and Langer Dan being brought down immediately springs to mind, though not perhaps on the same scale as GDC!

On a side note, massive shout to Bonjers, Exar Essay and punterorplonker for leading the charge on the El Barra shout (apologies if i missed anyone!). Such an unexpected gain from left field. Cheers, standing on the shoulders of giants and all that.

As good as GDC looked, it does make you pause for thought. Makes me think something must’ve been up with Bob to me in trouble so far out too.
I think the two horses who didn't appear to run anywhere near a normal race were got at ? Or it looked like they were.........Shishkin and Bob , any thoughts ?

What do you mean ‘got at’ Pencil? As in sabotaged?

Yes I am alleging that they may have been 'got at' as in sabotage......have there been any rational explanation to the performances of both horses in regards to the poor showings ?

According to the Racing Post, Rachel heard Bob make a noise so it sounds like he may need wind surgery. As to Shishkin, Hendo seemed fairly confident it was solely down to the ground.

The least rational explanation is a baseless accusation of sabotage though, non?

Hendo wasn’t confident leading up to the race, I think Shishkin may be a difficult horse to get/keep right and he knew the horse wasn’t where he wanted him.
Perhaps that Clarence House win left it’s mark ?
