He'll probably come over and school again before March, I'll report back. If he schools in Jan/Feb as he did the other day then I'll prob get stuck in, but in the back of my mind he's 12 and it puts me off slightly.

At 12 I think the only race he'd get away with winning is the XCC . I really do hope it happens. He so deserves to finish on a high and I think he will. The roof will come off when it does !

No, they mentioned the Grand National only for him.

          • Surely the value option here are The Mighty one himself and Balko

Both def targeting race and have course form….with 2 of top 3 stables

Am doubling them as well as straight back

            • Good new for Shady Operator fans...

              Shady Operator
              8g Court Cave-Native Artist
              JP McManus
              F-16091
              RPR 149c 132h OR 136c 133h
He's taken really well to the cross-country course at Punchestown and we've been lucky to have Derek O'Connor for his two wins there. You can't beat experience and that was probably a big factor when he beat our other runner Midnight Maestro recently. We'll take him to Cheltenham next month and then he'll head for the PP Hogan back at Punchestown in February, which he won last season, before going to the festival.

Will have a huge chance IMO. Tiger the one to beat and foolish to write him off as I found out last year, but we saw in 2020 he’s not unbeatable if there’s a real good one in the race and let’s face it he’s a lot of miles on the clock and not getting any younger

Lovely. I think 14/1 is still a great bet IMO, he's 7's with PP and Betfair. He looks a complete natural over XC obstacles too.

Yeah I'm late to the party but just added Shady Operator at 12/1, viable opposition looks to be think on the ground, interesting to see how he goes at Dec meeting...

                    • ….Farclas odds have had a haircut for this today. Not sure if something has been said or firms are thinking XC/GN route.

Shady Operator still 14-1 with 365, cut to 8-1 Sky.

As an early, speculative farclas backer that cashed out after the stable tour that would be pretty frustrating! Sky hold the 16s but it’s hardly ideal not having the option to cashout with it’s still being speculation(?) he could go for the race and the 10s 365 is comparatively skinny. Wouldn’t like to be backing too many for the cross country this side of Xmas either in an ideal world so think I’ll have to wait for now.

                        • Shame 365 have removed Tiger from the betting rather than pushing him out after that. Was never gonna love that ground, all roads lead to Cheltenham and (hopefully) better ground.

                          • No shady operator in next Fridays entries. last chance to gain experience of the course at Cheltenham, so a mighty big blow to his chances as far as im concerned. Anybody heard anything about the horse, wondering if there’s an issue as trainer was explicit this was the plan

                            • No shady operator is a shame. Not heard anything about his well-being, but balky entered again. Should be a little straighter and a little better off at the weights. Might be favourite for this on Friday afternoon

It's not a mighty blow at all. EB has replicated plenty of the Cheltenham obstacles at home and he'll most likely come over between now and March to get a sight of the obstacles.
