I really doubt this happens but Death Duty has been declared in the Galmoy Hurdle. His hurdles rating is 150, now I remember Arctic Fire being dropped 1st by the handicapper for a year long absence the year he won the county hurdle.

If he finishes tailed off it wouldn’t shock me to see him dropped 6lb on entries at Cheltenham which would put him bang in the middle of the pack. You’d want it to be an encouraging tailed off if that makes sense but I never thought he lasted three miles

He’s on my radar for the Coral/Pretemps HF. B365 quoted me 25’s for this race yesterday waiting for a NRNB quotes from Sky. On breeding & form I’d say this race would be his best shout

It’ll hopefully help. He surely won’t live with BDD & Apples Jade coming off a 2 year break with injury. A promising run fading for fitness in the last half mile will do nicely.

Thought that was a nice run today from Death Duty. Travelled nicely under a lenient ride & Rachel didn’t ask for too much when the race got going. Interesting what the handicapper makes of it now.
