Think Min v APT is quite an exciting clash myself!
Originally posted by Saxon Warrior View PostYep, I think a checkback to the depth of prior renewals required, to confirm if it’s a poor one.
It's always shite. Every year people get carried away saying it'll end up potentially being a hot renewal, and it never is
Some good horses have won it (Cue Card, Imperial Commander) who went on to better things, and Vautour is the absolutely standout and whilst he's the best thing that has happened to this race, it's also the worst in terms of what could have been.
Shite race overall though, if Min (who we all know is/has been worse than Douvan/Un De Sceaux/Altior his whole career) is the standout class angle, and if you don't like Min, Riders Onthe Storm and A Plus Tard, who ran in 0-145 handicaps last year, does not prove this has ever been a good race, or that this year is a good renewal.

It'll be fine, same as any other.

I've been banging that drum all year
Although not a horse I'm looking at putting in multiples yet, but there is a chance he's just a class above this field!
You'll get people quoting this tomorrow saying he won't get up the hill, flat track bully, poor Cheltenham record etc..... all wrong

IMO, this is a good race and I'm really looking forward to it. Min is a very good horse and would be considered superstar status if Altior had not been around. You then have APT and Riders who are potentially very exciting. Ok, they both ran in handicaps last season but IMO, it's a no brainer to try and get a festival winner if you think you have a horse that is at least 20llbs well in. I never understand why some people seem to think that if a horse runs in a handicap, then it can't be a great horse. Just off the top of my head, 2 of the top chasers/hurdles in Cyrname and Paisley both were running in handicaps at the start of last season.
Frodon in this race is also a good horse and will add to making it a good race.

All year? What's your name, Gavin Lynch? Well behind the times Kev, this was last seasons chat

If Min doesn't run to his level, it will be won by a handicapper that's progressed to being a graded performance, as that's all that's in it against him ...Last edited by Kevloaf; 20 February 2020, 08:12 AM.
