Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • A week to go... what do you do?

    How do you feel?

Part of me thinks I'm pretty much done, I'll enjoy the previews each night this week and not get too mcuh that I don't already know (or have anticipated) anyway.

The other part of me... thinks I need an absoltue war chest to start throwing money around at every positive vibe or 'switcharoo' that I hear.

I know the first line is much more likely to be true, so why am I loading up my Unibet account waiting for their shiny price boosts

    Excited.

I'm almost all done, until I go starchasing next week. Like yourself, will watch the previews, but read more into what isn't said, than what is.

I'll probably splash 50-100 pts around during the week, and hopefully I'll have a decent chest to go to war with when I'm on holiday in the summer

I’m buzzing. Other than Cilaos and Vinndication no real kicks yet (crosses fingers). I always promise myself il distract myself with work this week. Every year I fail. I am out now having a few beers and basically already in holiday mode haha. Feel like most the hard work and bets are done now. Like you say, load up and fire cash at those tasty preview night offers.

Spend even more time than usual on twitter dreading a breaking news tweet from the Racing Post being one of mine out injured for the festival (or via Betfair if it’s one of Hendos)

I’ll be keeping an eye on the specials that come out, expect Sky will have one everyday now.

This is still my first real antepost year so I still have the mindset that most of my money will be won on the day so will still be as focused as usual. Still some more free bets to be farmed!

3 more days at work and then I'm all done until 18th March. Tbh, I wasn't as excited this year as I usually am, perhaps because last year I had a shocker. Subsequently, my only AP bets are small and speculative.

However, the excitement has really kicked in now and it's all I can think about. I have a good bit more cash to punt with this time around and I'm due some luck. Fingers crossed!

Trying to get everything done at work ahead of a week off (at not an ideal timing from a work perspective)!

From a racing perspective, super excited. It’s the best week of the year.

From a punting perspective, a little anxious. I’ve done about 65%/70% of my punting already antepost. Last few years it’s been only about 20%. Cilaos Emery and Dino have hit me hard. I got carried away covering myself (at nice prices admittedly) in the Supreme albeit without air cover on Al Dancer, which now worries me a tad. And Pic D’Orhy not making it would be gutting too andvery bad for my book. So nervous. Could be laughing by Tues eve...or in a bit of a hole. It’s all within a budget I can afford but would much rather PdO was confirmed and CE somehow made it!

Super excited, and a tad nervous!

I love and loathe this week in equal measure. Next week being so close is like torture, but I love the last bit of build up and keeping an eye on the markets.

Work suffers a tad this week, my mind is elsewhere!

It's going to be a long week and feel like an even longer weekend. I struggled to concentrate at work today and must have checked the exchanges and this forum every 30 minutes.

The preview evening are a nice distraction this week, and I'll go to sleep dreaming that Cilaos Emery makes a miraculous recovery and lines up in the Arkle, until he's inevitably ruled out.

I don't have the same excitement this year as usual, partly due to being at work and how working out how to balance that with the racing. Also partly due to not having as many antepost bets on and not as many good prices as last year. Penhill being a NR gave me a good kicking as well.

                      Cheer me up people!

I’ve committed so much money again beforehand that I’m chasing up painting jobs and advertising again just incase I have a disaster. I’m starting to get nervous now especially with declarations yet to be confirmed. I’ve lost a few quid on ante post non runners but have a decent number of bets to give me a good chance of profit again. I’m attending the Festival on the Thursday so always try and plan it that I’ve got a few juicy multiples still riding on the Thursday and hopefully still alive come the Friday. Most of this week is spent trying to
keep myself busy but avoiding injury as my mind is elsewhere so avoid anything dangerous unless I have too. My family & friends have now accepted I’ll be on planet Cheltenham from the 1st March and I’ll be back to normality not long after the 15th. It’s my favourite time of the year though but it’s always strange as I only know a few people with an interest in it, I think my favourite bit is composing a play list of songs for the bus trip up to Cheltenham and fantasising in advance what I’m going to spend my winnings on whilst listening and drinking to Kenny Rogers & the Killers. A bit like Christmas the build up is always more exciting and enjoyable than event itself as it can often be an anti climax and stress test

Spending the week refreshing the exchange market and checking this forum every 5 minutes whilst pretending to be getting some work done. The best time of the year by a mile!

This year I’ve focussed on listening to previous years podcast to get a grip of what most where saying prior to the festival
