2026 Novice Chasers

First arkle marker laid down
Absolutely. If Kopek, Salvator and potentially Lulamba & Kawaboomga can jump and travel that well, it will be a very small field indeed.

I haven't backed Lulamba, i think he needs further and don't think he will turn up here. I have backed the other 4. I think i can close that book. Nothing from England would touch Romeo Coolio never mind the others.

Also fairly happy with Koktail Divin at a trip that will surely prove too short. Jumped well bar a scruffy one and those connections love to build into the 3 miler. Happy enough with the big price and happy enough to sit, wait and watch with that one.

Yeah, though the few fences he did jump he navigated very well, does look a natural over fences...
He certainly did

Not sure if hes quick enough for the arkle or will stay strongly enough to win the 3 miler.

He kept getting done for boot at the end of his races over 2 miles over hurdles

Absolutely, just shows how the removal of the 20f G1 has sharpened minds…

For me, RC has always won easily or not at all. Hopefully we'll see him in a proper battle at Christmas or the DRF.

Any news re Lulamba? Been pushed out to 9/2 and Kopek and others shortened up.

Lulamba only lengthened with Flutter.

Only two have shortened, Romeo, obviously because of today and Kopek, I imagine because of the form line with Romeo from the Supreme.

Kargese shortened as well.

Kopek was trimmed yesterday by a few and tightened further before Romeo's chase debut today.
Just another display of horrific bookmaking, 2 horses debut today (Lump Sum and Romeo Coolio) both almost halved in price and the fav trimmed too and I don't see others being pushed out either.
The book runs to about 150% at the moment, every chance there will be others added that are not yet quoted and of course all non runners are profit for the books unlike the raceday markets where 110% is the generally accepted overround.
Modern day bookmaking...

To early to close the Arkle book methinks

Still to come potential protagonists inc;

BDA
Kargese (if chasing rather than CH)
Kopeck de Mee

I am backing Kopeck De Mee, i was being a little mischievous 😄 just because of the 'could be anything' factor and it's JP. No interest in BDA but Kargese would become of interest if going chasing.

I thought that the first 3 home in the supreme would fill first 3 places in arkle. With munny staying hurdling, kopek, Romeo plus one other. Mundi or Kargese.
But simply can’t see past the favourite
Beast mode

Drinmore is next race for Coolio

….Romeo Coolio 9-1 Arkle in Hills ‘Road to Cheltenham’ specials.

Extra 4 furlongs but a predominantly flat track. He might be thinking that the extra distance will negate the Cheltenham undulations.

Or maybe it's time we covered him for the BANC :D

Main thing for me yesterday was that Romeo showed he can jump a fence ok
I like him and now have him covered for Arkle and BANC, makes sense to me as could go either way imo.
