Everything about him suggests he'll be a better chaser than hurdler and he wasn't too bad over hurdles, was he? The way he jumped hurdles always had me excited with a view to going chasing. His schooling has been excellent, as we thought it would be. He's ready to rock and worked really well at Navan the other day alongside some of our best horses. He's in serious nick. He'll run in a beginners' chase at Down Royal this week or we'll wait for Navan. It'll depend on the ground. He's in the same boat as Brighterdaysahead in that he could start off over 2m or 2m4f. It doesn't really matter to him. You'd be hoping he's an Arkle horse.

Elliot has an abysmal record in the arkle, i wouldn't back anything he sends there

It's a fair point, but the yard tends to have an abundance of stayers and I can't think of many decent 2 milers that he has had to go novice chasing with.

Taking the close 2nd to KDB in the supreme, he has to have an EW chance if he turns up?
Likely to be a small field and with no 2.5m G1 novice chase, it's where he'll run if fit.

Looking at the odds, I can't see many intended runners, so at 14's or 16's, I think he's one of the better bets out there.
(Known target, likely small field, festival form tied in with leading rival who is a quarter of the price)

Known target: agree
Likely small field: agree
Festival form: agree
Close 2nd in the Supreme: strongly disagree

He was third in the supreme and beaten by over 7 lengths not a close 2nd.

We're really looking forward to going over fences. He's always worked very smartly and last season just improved with every run. He's schooled over fences already, which he's been very good at. When you see his size, he's just an out-and-out chaser. He'll need to step forward again if he's going to be competing in Grade 1s, but he has the potential to be a Brown Advisory type. He's fit and ready to go, so it's just waiting for the ground.

They really do like him don't they. Could be a proper horse.

Be Aware could be a big mover in the Arkle market if he impresses today. Currently a best 66/1

Maybe one for the Jack Richard’s rather than Arkle
Being by Martaline you'd definitely be thinking further than the Arkle.

Nice starting point for him today though, should be winning, before they work back for a mark for the JR :ROFLMAO:

Can understand re breeding but to me he didn't get home on decent ground at the Fez and was ridden like a non stayer through the race. Time will tell. Likely to find several too good at the highest grade you'd think.

That's fine, so on that basis, one for the Grand Annual?

I just don't think he's at the level required for the top.

Quoted at 16's with Unibet for the GA😂

On the face of it a 7yo who has had two years hurdling and currently rated 136 would have pretty much no chance, but my mind is taken back to Edwardstone who had a similar (ish) profile.
I think the bigger issue with Be Aware is his inability to settle, a big field race will help so I'd be more inclined to think Grand Annual than Arkle, but right now I think Skelton will be looking as high as possible and then start plotting if he comes up short....
