2026 Juveniles

She certainly jumped well enough. Started off at a doddle and Jack sent her on. Probably didn't want it to turn into a sprint. Was going away again at the line.
 
It feels like the new course at Cheltenham may be more suitable for her than Down Royal too.
 
It was put to Elliott that Mange Tout overraced in front and he concurred, telling Racing TV: "I'd say a hundred per cent and I take all the blame myself.

"She worked a few weeks ago on grass and worked really, really well but at home on the sand she was so laid back, I was kind of scratching my head a little bit and decided to leave the hood off and I'd say it was the wrong thing to do. She wore it in France and I shouldn't have changed the process.

"Jack said it was a fair performance and went away with him for a mile and six, took a blow and to pick up and gallop on I thought she showed a very good attitude. I thought it was workmanlike but she showed a very good attitude to come back and win because she did everything wrong.

"We can go to Fairyhouse or Newbury, we'll have a chat with the whole team and make a decision. I think she's nice."

I think was an ok performance but one where if you're on you think ive still got a chance but dont think many who aren't will think thats one I need onside now.
 
Race he won with Wodhooh last year, might be thinking the same path with Mange Tout, mentioned Newbury (or Fairyhouse) as possible destination next and that’s where Wodhooh went after DR
 
I think that it was satisfactory performance. Are one or two of Gordon’s horses not firing? Does in need to be marked up?

So... Mange tout

I'd be lying if I didn't hope for a little more than that. I didn't see the race live due to work, and watched 1 replay this afternoon and rewatched again there

My thoughts:

Jumped beautifully, travelled very strong under Jack and for 90% of the race I was very happy with what I saw. Did she just get caught for a little bit of race fitness? 6month since her debut run in France and change of scenery, training regime etc. The 2 horses she's beaten had race fitness onside with good enough wins coming into the race.
In the post race interview, Gordon alluded to sticking the hood back on her, I must say I was surprised when I seen her dec'd without it. Hopefully that will just harness her exuberance a little which will help her finish out the race better. Who knows how much improvement there is to come with her and we won't know until we see her next time to probably judge it a little better.

5th Falcon Jet - finished last of 9 @ Lyon
6th Moment de Grace - last of 7 @ Auteuil
7th I got Rhythm - 12th @ Fontainebleau
8th Sangre - 5th beaten 35L @ Auteuil


*Sea Liner who was PU in the PoK, has won since, albeit a weak race in Angers.
 
Are you saying all the French Juvenile Hurdle form is a bag of crap Darlo ?

In other words, Macho Man & Feel Gut can get in the bin (for those that don't know the horses that ran in the Pride Of Kildare) :ROFLMAO:

Forty Fifty also haha..

Nah it's not ideal is it if you've backed though, always a comfort to see some form upheld in behind. I made comment on the time of the race first off as a potential question mark.

Suppose doesn't necessarily mean the front lot havent got bundles of improvement in them, so hard to gauge these juveniles and novices from FR.

The one thing about both MM & FG are they are with the right trainers to bring about plenty of improvement, and Macho Man won well enough to suggest he's plenty better than the horses that have been letting the form down.

That aside, I'm not a massive fan of his sire, so I've held off on him for now.

That and the fact Joe Donnelly has gone for both and he very rarely misses with the recruits does he.

Yeah, forgot he brought FG.

Sir Gino / Salvator Mundi all over again.

Not convinced it will quite work out the same, but FG for the Supreme next season then!
