….Mullins re F2F;

‘He obviously a Ryanair or Gold Cup type. JP McManus owns the Gold Cup winner Inothewayurthinkin, so he might want to keep them apart, we’ll have to cross those bridges when we get to them. We think the King George would be a lovely race for him and he is one of a few of ours that are in the mix for that.’

Would be very happy to see Croke Park get beaten today with everything against him. Hopefully by 2 or 3 lengths. I am planning on backing him but want to see what toady brings first. The only one I have backed so far is Heart Wood as this is his probable target so a win here is a win for me at this stage.

’planning’ ?……we are all on at 66/1 after your prompt about the Gigginstown link for the race! 😂

I was waiting for an entry and now he has got one there might be a chance of 100/1

I am probably playing a dangerous game but I'm going to be resilient for now. If I have to take 33s or something similar I will have to kick myself and bite the bullet

Edit :- I fully expected him to be out at Down Royal so this entry threw me a bit

At the weights today Croke Park simply can’t win surely - Just looking for him to get round safely as a pipe opener for the season ahead

Is it just me that this has been a nightmare ante post race for ?
I've had some great on the day pick ups, Min, Cue Card, Allaho amongst them, but from an ante post perspective it's been fairly horrible, I think I may have sneaked Allaho in one year at 4/1 that converted a double as well but on the whole I reckon I chuck half a dozen points away every year on non runners.
Each year there are a large number of horses quoted who have pretty much no chance of running here, I've sneaked Fact to File in a couple of multi's year and if this one heads here he'll be my only bet, but I certainly won't be adding anything else until there's some NRNB around ...

Croke Park’s form in the spring worries me from a Cheltenham perspective. He clearly got loads of talent but he doesn’t seem to take his racing too well later in the season.

Couldn't believe Gordon didn't let him take his chance in the BANC. He fully deserved to. On that note..... I'm out.

Nicky on Jango Baie:

"We were extremely proud of achievements as he probably only ran in the Arkle as Sir Gino was unavailable and from being nearly tailed off coming down the hill he came with a whirlwind finish to land the spoils. He ran another cracker when a close third in the Manifesto Novices’ Chase, but he pulled up lame and suffered an injury which necessitated having a screw inserted. Two and a half miles will almost certainly be his minimum trip, and he could well stay three in the near future. He has, already, been seriously exciting and we have the dream of more to come."

Re Down Royal, he could still do both? Don Cossack did it, then went on to WIN the Gold Cup...

Don't Arkle winners have a horrific record in the Ryanair?!

I've had a cheeky King George/Ryanair EW double on Jango Baie. The Gold Cup looks a step too far to me for now.

No. Just a straight forward double based on the madness in my mind..........but I do like the bet.

Only asked as a straight forward double on the same horse is not normally allowed? Don't want it to come in and you be devastated if they say it's not valid.

If a ‘related’ bet is accepted in error then if the bet wins they may pay a revised odds double, rather than the full odds. The issue will only be flagged by the bookmaker at payout time and I would suspect they may view the Jango Baie example as ‘related’.

Was placed in a shop. Just checked online and nobody will allow. You're right. I'll go check tomorrow. I suspect/fear you are right. If you are then will go with a single on King George and decide where to go from there. Thanks for the Heads Up. Didn't think of that.
