Personally have narrowed it down to 2 fancies at this stage in samcro and bapaume. The latter is dynamite around auteuil over the fixed brush and could use his experiance to his advantage over the novices. Ie footpad prevously (arkle)

Brewinupastorm and birchdale are worth a mention and seem to be popular on here.

Id give an admirable mention to fakir d'oudaries of joseph o'brien, being a talented individual, who imo could improve for a fence and the possibility of stepping up in trip. Whether he goes chasing this year or next.

I think Melon could end up here too.

Thomas Darby and/or Brewin'upastorm are both interesting to me.

Bapaume surprises me a little, as I thought he's more a staying type but that's from memory not anything more solid.

and Samcro we probably all like.

Has Bapaume been confirmed for chasing this season?

I personally like Samcro and Birchdale as it stands for this, but not a race I'm overly strong on at the minute

I just envisage Samcro doing a Defi Du Seul and putting a terrible second-season over Hurdles into distant memory with a brilliant year ending in a win in this race.

I’m on him any race but I just expect him here. And I have done for over a year that this would be the race for him.

What happened to a front running Alaho? I thought you were on to something there.

Although I made a case for Reserve Tank in the RSA, there’s every chance he could end up here and he’d be my pick for this too. The one at a price I like is Tornado Flyer. He had an interrupted season over hurdles but was thought good enough to run in two Grade 1 races regardless. He’s always struck me as a chaser and if they can get a consistent season out of him I think this intermediate distance is where he’ll end up. 33/1 with cash out has enough legs for me.

Samcro & Birchdale are the two that have seen my cash.

I hope Bapaume stays over hurdles as I've backed him for the Stayers, though can cash out.

I think Reserve Tank has every chance of coming here tbh.

I agree and hope you are right.

Purely a case of price jackie with allaho. Was really expecting some juice in it.

All aboard the Samcro train choo choo. I just cannot wait to see him over fences.

One Jump Ahead finally arrived and I'm not even past page 1 and I want to get some money on...

Allaho as mentioned above... strong comments about him being a chaser in the making...

My gut says RSA to be honest but I can see this race too.... Any race only 9s and 8s ...but WH you can get 14/1 (or 15s)

I am tempted.... his overall form doesn't look bad, 3rd in the Albert Bartlett, Beat Minella Indo by 4l, and 2nd at Punchestown.

A little too short right now but I am tempted - then again, top price for this race is 16/1 and he's 15.3/1 any race....

Ah ffs this is going to be an expensive night.

That’s the reason I stopped buying the books. I struggle to narrow down my own shortlist without someone else causing me a bigger headache.

Allaho was incredibly inexperienced last year so you can mark him up for sure. He looked to have the Punchestown race in the bag turning for home but Minella Indo hunted him down and won easily enough. Lots of improvement to come you’d imagine though.

Yeh, already have Minella Indo backed at a bigger price (33 and 20) though and I think it's going to be a decent formline and I don't think you can like one without the other... not huge amounts between them over hurdles and the comments about Allaho always being a chaser in the making have lured me in.

To be fair, I was likely to back him anyway but I didn't take much nudging

Its hard to ignore Samcro at 16s for this, can see me getting some on him soon as he was always meant to be this chasing beast. One that interests me that I know many are touting for the Arkle, is Thomas Darby at 40/1. Olly Murphy has been quoted on numerous occasions on saying he can see him wanting further over the season, and I seem to think he said similar towards end of last season. Just have a nagging thought that he may be upped in trip for the JLT, especially when you compare the Brewin comments where he is questioning if he can stay this distance, with these being arguably his best 2 darts at a big festival race he will likely want them split up.

I'm struggling to nail down the two Murphy horses at the moment as I keep reading conflicting comments. On breeding I think both would be at their best over further than 2m. I saw that Brewin'upastorm has had a breathing op so that may help him finish off his races over 2 and a half miles. I'm not sure Murphy will out rank two of his biggest owners when it comes to targets though so they could easily go for the same race.

I thought Allaho for this if he’s going chasing, just didn’t scream out and out staying chaser to me having watched his runs back

16s best price for this at 15/1 any race with WH

I'd take the any race just in case he strengthens and ends up being more of a staying type.... he still placed in 2x Grade 1s as a 3 mile hurdler... so he definitely does stay... just not as well as Minella Indo did

Was thinking of pulling the trigger on Brewinupasorm for this but not so sure now

Get in there Kev
Billies Any Race
Hope it wins , for US lol

Owners Munir & Souede have had some very good horses entered into the JLT over the past number of years and have a good record in the race but I can’t think of any decent juveniles of theirs from last season who would have a chance this season in the novice chases?
