Let's hope they keep it as a grade 2 for the foreseeable and encourage the best mares to head for the Grade 1s.
 
3rd in the Champion Chase will probably get more than the winner of the Mares Chase. I like that.

As an afterthought, in the unlikely event that Irish runners don't make it to the Festival, how far do you have to go down the current betting lists to find a UK mare and by chance it happens to be DDC at circa 33-1. Just saying......

33/1 is a cracking price. Taken 35/1 with the boost. Don’t suppose that’ll last long! :drunk:
 
With her 5lb penalty Colreevy will find it very difficult . Can't have her at all now. Benie simply must come here. Easy pickings. Mullins will be salivating.
 
So BDD would escape without a penalty, whilst Colreevy and PTKO would both get 5lbs penalty's.

I don't think we can be surprised, he sent Quevega when she was a G1 Mare to a G2 race..... I think we can all foresee it becoming a Grade 1 in time too. Which I will no doubt be flapping my gums about in disgust a few years from now.

Very tempted to back her at 33's. Already got her TWAR but that's too big to ignore .
 
Given the penalties id imagine many trainers will run there horses over hurdles to prep for this race in the future to avoid having to carry the extra

Makes the race even shitter. We're not even going to get clashes along the way culminating in a final show down.

To be fair that’s partly down to the fact they weren’t able to confirm/communicate rave conditions until 10
weeks before the race...

To be fair, the penalties are tiny and wouldn't put anyone off. 5lb is just a single poor jump.

As has been said, the prize-money would be a disincentive to some.
 
Lots of Blue on oddschecker for Dame De Compagnie today and significantly imo she has been backed in with Hendos mob Unibet.
