Going Chasing / Staying Hurdling.

With BDA confirmed sticking to Hurdles I expected a run on Jade De Grugy for the Mares Chase but her price hasn't dropped at all and in fact she's been pushed out a point by a couple whilst her own price in the Mares Hurdle has been stable. Perhaps she too is going to give fences a miss this season.

I'd have expected her to go much lower.....sort of mirroring BDA in the Mares Hurdle. I suppose there are a few JP horses in the MC that bookies are more afraid of maybe.

With Lossiemouth going CH Willie might not trust just Kargesse (Dodgy stayer possibly ?) against BDA and throw Jade at her as well. We know how much Mullins loves winning that Mares Hurdle.

Actually just re read previous posts and it's was only a maybe her going chasing anyway so no decision announced yet.

I was the same Lobos, lumped on last night @ 9/1 and thought the bookmakers were slow to react to the implications of the BDA news and that today the price would be a lot shorter. I also thought there was something said previously about JDG going or considering chasing.

I’d add that Impervious needs to come back from injury, was previously muted to be considering the Ryanair before injury I believe? Dinoblue may be better over 2m and may go to the CC, as the race historically cuts up? Maybe where Dinoblue goes will determine where JDG goes?

Personally I think that if JDG is given the opportunity of chasing, jumps well, then with a little improvement, which can be expected, she has Limerick Lace to beat and should be a shorter price for the Mares Chase than the Mares Hurdle.

That's what Willie has to sort out.....which one of those 3 is best equipped to take on the likes of BDA and GA in the Mares Hurdle and IMO it is JDG. For me, the way she races, Kargesse would be a doubtful stayer and Gala just isn't good enough. Can't wait until Willies Stable Tour!!
