Thought this deserved a thread of its own.If one already please merge.

Only Betfair have odds for now

Paul Townend 2/5
Jack 3/1
Nico 10/1
Rachael 12/1
Aidan Coleman 16/1
Mark Walsh 16/1
Skelton 16/1
Cobden 20/1
Daryl 25/1
Dickie 50/1

Can be some angles on this market during the week. Paul Townend is new Ruby an a fair favourite. He did have a slow start last year and was produced on the line to win with a Gold Cup day treble that paid a lot more than the 2/5 on show here. I would be happier to perm his rides every day than take the 2/5 on offer. I like Mark Walsh but don't know that he will be much better off for rides than other years with Nico/Coleman the main beneficiaries of Barry's retirement. If anything happened Paul T injury wise who would step in on Mullins horses ?

I'm not sure if any/how many bookies allow each way betting here but I'm convinced Skelton will have a decent week so I thought Harry might be an OK punt at 16s.
Racheal looks overpriced too....

Jack moved from 4/1 to 3/1 when the news about Davy came out.... I'd say he's priced about right.

For me, it is a two horse race. The depth of rides as stable number 1 for Mullins/Elliott is just too strong. If they stay fit of course.

I don't think you can back each way or I'd have a lot more interest, with Skelton and Blackmore obvious ones, probably Rachel most likely to benefit from no amatuers.... might ride Melon and Pencilfulloflead and some Ricci handicappers etc....

Still, tough ask to beat the big 2 IMO.

Top jockey is a minefield as an odds on favourite at 1.20 on Tuesday could be in hospital by 2.00.

If you're looking at Skelton or Rachael in this market, I'd say that a safer bet is their main trainer in the top trainer market.

I always think about it and then think with those prices I'd just rather back there selections on each day or over a few days or something

Especially Thur/Fri, when you'd know what they would need to do....

Not an exact science. I did actually have a small bet on Jack with the Davy news but only as a bit of a novelty bet as I thought 4/1 in a 2 horse race was fair enough.... so is 3/1 really, but not make-or-break stuff.

Covid has rendered this market pointless IMO. On top of injury always being a risk, a positive test and that's that, which could easily happen in the days up to the fez, or at the fez

If Jack and Paul get covid I'll wish I took the doubler figures about the others :wink-new:

Yeh I probably should have quantified that with shorties not worth it, but excellent point.

That's my point though, it's not all about profits.

No need to reply, I know you're laughing. :highly_amused::highly_amused:

...and they say, well why's that funny. Then I explain it and tell 'em, yeah you're right. You are the best.
