Clearly it seems that this race has had a boost in the quality of the runners with the lowest ratings rising in the last six years and 140+ horses taking over the winning from 130+.

The cancelling of the Novice Handicap Chase could lead to more novices rated above 140 targeting this race, which could drive up the Lowest OR required to get a run up by a 1lb or 2.

As per last season (didn't run though), Belami Des Pictons is my E/W banker of the festival, should he turn up for this.

I fancy Court Meribel in this, he ran alright in the Betvictor, finishing 6th but is jumping and travelling better this season in his races. NTD has a good record in this race, nearly winning it with Splash of Ginge 2 years ago and so I think this race has been a target of the Counts and 25/1 is an attractive price for a horse who has solid C&D around Cheltenham at this distance. I really fancy a big run as long as he gets competitive on Saturday which ever race he goes for.

Had an EW freebie on last years 4th Eamon an Cnoic at 33/1. Same mark at present.

Wrong thread

Ex Patriot is running in the Thyestes today, this his most like target for the festival? Or would they look at the ultima if he stays in the Thyestes?

I like him too, have you read anything about him recently?

PU, 4th and 8th since he came back from that break doesn't scream festival winner though :highly_amused:

I like him, I liked him last year at 20/1, so 33/1 might be a play.

Absolutely nothing since that last run. The PU he burst a blood vessel I believe.

The 4th I was extremely happy with, never nearer at Cheltenham over half a furlongs shorter than this race.

The 8th was less inspiring, nothing has to come to light though I just think he's more a intermediate trip of a horse.

Fingers crossed for the Edwardstone An Cnoic double then :p

Ran a great race today in Thyestes. Would love to see him drop 2lbs and get into the Kim Muir, especially if DOC rode him there

Another second from spirit of the game happy with that for this, serious ew chance

The worry with him, is that he surely has nothing hidden at all from the handicapper?

Too consistant?

Cheltenham form showing up again looks to hate winning is the worry. Dan didn’t look gutted that it got beat either

I had it lined up, but worry now that he'll get at least another 2 for that.
Will look for something else, but wouldn't surprise me if the same horses pop up in March.
