Especially early in the flat season you often have the situation of horses with good recent AWT form (maybe in lower prize money races) racing on the turf against horses who haven't run since last season but may have decent form in more valuable races. How do forum members evaluate AWT form for turf races?

A case just now was the 1.50 Esher Cup at Sandown where the Mark Johnston trained top weight Naamoos (11/2) beat some horses with good recent AWT wins (in lower valued races).

The all weather racing is pretty crap and a fair few of them are running on the all weather because they arent as good on the turf

Gosden has used the AW for horses like Enable, palace pier and stradivarius though

Id be very unlikely to back a horse that only has AW form on the turf and Visa versa

My thinking as well as I always look for a horse that has run well in a similar race to the one in question.
I guess Gosden uses those races as easy racecourse experience timed to prepare for the big race.
