    Pertemps Network Final 2019

Quite a unique race to examine with the qualifying system as it is. As always, a number of qualifiers across Britain and Ireland with the top 6 in each race qualifying for the final. Thanks to Jono for providing a list of last year’s qualifiers which I’ve used as a starting point to hunt out the...

    Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle 2019

Almost impossible to get a handle on what might run in this race at this stage, let alone win it. But a race that always gets the opinions flowing, as evidenced by the handicap thread where there have already been a number of suggestions put forward. So let’s put those mentioned so far all in...

    Ultima Handicap Chase 2019

As mentioned in the handicaps thread I think it’s time we had individual threads for the handicaps to avoid some of the good suggestions being lost amongst each other. The opening handicap of the week and, unlike most of the other handicaps where everyone is seemingly trying to find the Irish...

    Ante-Post Tactics

Forgive me if this is a subject that’s been discussed before but it’s something I’ve been giving a lot of thought to over the opening weeks of this season. The Cheltenham Festival has been part of my life since the mid-90s. I’m actually not very old, I just started young!! The memories start to...

    Foxhunters 2019

Yes, I’m starting a thread for the Foxhunters in October! This one isn’t going to win any prizes for originality but I wanted to discuss GILGAMBOA. Earlier on I wrote a post in the Mares Novices thread to say I’ve just backed Daphne Du Clos, and that it’s the first time I’ll have placed a bet...

    Kim Muir 2018

I don't think there's a thread for this yet so, after starting the Grand Annual thread, I seem to be challenging myself to solving some of the most impossible ante-post handicap puzzles of the week! Squouateur is the obvious one after coming down 3 out when looking menacing in the race last...

    Grand Annual 2018

I can't believe I'm starting a thread about the Grand Annual in December as I generally find it a minefield of a race and I don't think I've ever had a bet on it before Festival week. However, I've had a horse in mind for this since it's last run when disappointing behind Shantou Rock in October...
