I agree, introduced into the betting by some as fifth best for the Arkle Doesn’t Willie normally start his smart 2m- 2 1/2 milers over 2m and then decide on Festival target? Who do we think will be Willies Arkle horse apart from He’s on Fire? - Narciso Has (maybe too young?) the monster...

Affordability Checks - May 2026 - Best Practice

With the potential announcement next week of Affordability Checks becoming 'official', then maybe it would be of value to everyone on this Forum if FJ's share their views around this topic so that we can learn from each other, learn from those that have gone through the process and maybe form a...

My worry would be that both Jockey and Trainer have said that the way he finished in the Gold Cup was not because he didn’t stay, but something to do with his wind, so therefore IMO they will start next season campaigning him as a GC contender and the Ryanair will only become an afterthought...

Why Narciso Has for Champ Hurdle and not Arkle? Age trend not good but same connections still tried it with Majborough at five years old, rather than choosing another year over hurdles before going chasing as a six year old

Good shout, could be the each way play early doors @ 20/1, especially if they think they can’t beat Lossie over 2m next year 👍 Normally though they go down in trip rather than up ie Annie, Lossie……although Honeysuckle did both! Wodhooh maybe Stayers? JDG maybe Mares Chase? BDA maybe Mares...

If Wodhooh goes Stayers then ‘slam dunk’ JDG Mares hurdle winner 2027👍 Where else is there a 150 plus OR Mare coming from?

He’ll have to do a lot of skullduggery to get a young (still improving?) 156 OR 158 RPR horse into the Jack Richard’s with a chance 😄

If Kabral can’t get 3m over hurdles then not sure how will he get 3m over fences? A year older may strengthen him up but dont see him running in the Stayers or 3m again - bookmakers agree 40/1 or the BANC @ 50/1 IF he runs at the festival next season then it’s Arkle or CH IMO He’s still young...

    2026 Champion Chase

After his sublime win this year I don’t see Willie not letting IET defend his crown However I also don’t see either Kargese or KDB step up further than 2m ! Majborough will surely be tried over further than 2m during the season in order to test the water

Why only considering novice hurdlers within the Arkle market? Whilst nothing confirmed yet around next seasons campaign plan then both Kabral du Mathan and Anzadam have higher ratings as hurdlers than the first three in the Supreme. Both same age as OPS (6) and Anzadam surely not staying...

    2027 The Prices on Offer

Will the trend change as a result of the Jack Richard’s being a handicap now and therefore any Turners podium finishers need to either step up or down in trip if they go chasing the following season and if they are to be considered as an AP proposition for a race at the festival? If KRG and AOI...

    2027 The Prices on Offer

The point on Sir Gino was that he wasn’t considered in the betting (not quoted initially) for the CH early doors last year and was supposedly always going for the QMCH. Things changed even before he got to the racecourse based upon the owner and trainers alternatives not delivering OPS doesn’t...

    2027 The Prices on Offer

Good info on breeding, thanks Interesting that AOI is not even quoted in the CH market, yet of the two being the more likely on breeding to stay hurdling The bookmakers clearly see AOI as a stayer, not a 2 miler, as he is quoted in the Stayers market (same price as KRG)……are they right or is...

SM to old even if he does IMO As for market chaos, then does that provide opportunity?

    2027 The Prices on Offer

AOI was at one time believed to be the speedier horse verses OPS wasnt he?..….if so, then surely not a BANC horse Do we think the owner will be happy for OPS and AOI to both contest the Arkle if their respective season plans go well?

That’s where I am at at the moment and the position I am taking early doors AP, particularly with the Arkle market

    2027 The Prices on Offer

Like this year, maybe the Arkle winner doesn’t come from the Novice Hurdle ranks?……but rather from existing young graded hurdlers or/and Juveniles?

    2027 The Prices on Offer

Interesting shout re OPS Champ Hurdle Some similarity around the Sir Gino CH shout very early doors last year when fav for the QMCC Would suit my mini Arkle book, which at the moment is ignoring the Supreme podium finishers Where is Act of Innocence going and does that support OPS Champ...

Same age as Wodhooh and rated 16lbs inferior. Wodhooh proven over the trip JDG 7 years old, rated 12lbs superior, proven over the trip BDA 7 years old, rated 21lbs superior, proven over the trip White Noise, unproven over the trip and where is she going to find the improvement from?
