All anyone had to do was read the race conditions. I imagine that it came as a surprise to Snowden because the original plan for a prep race was the abandoned Old Roan which would have been caught by the 27th October ratings.
You'll be sitting pretty on some nice bets now

Panic Attack still looks really well weighted based on how easy she won last year.

Unfortunately, I have a tiny share in him and have the rule of not backing my own horses.

On the wider loophole, I suppose a 2m4f conditions race at Carlisle isn't an obvious preparation for 3m2f round Newbury so no-one has given it much thought before. Indeed the Old Roan was the prep race for Datsalrightgino used by Snowden 3 years ago.

Had a pop on Mets Ta Ceinture for the Supreme. I know it's a mare and rare but this is Dan Skelton and he loves breaking the norm. Doesn't sound like your average MNH type. Reading between the lines and all that 😂

"Second in the Champion Bumper last season, she's a very speedy type. We're waiting for the rain to get her started but we have pretty grand ambitions for her. Her run as a four-year-old against that kind of company at the festival was pretty amazing and I think she's a lovely mare"

Yeah I backed her a while back but she'll need to be special to line up in the Supreme, if it looks to be a decent heat I don't think Skelton will take much persuading to send her to the easier Mares Nov option.
Here's hoping she's special !

Has that handy 7lbs allowance to play with too. Incredibly good run first time out in the bumper. It's just his wording regarding her. Seems to me he thinks she is above the average MNH type if horse and if Nans Choice proves good enough to carry the flag for them he might just do it anyway.

Not been many mares have a go at the race from memory, they go such a lick you have to be streetwise and no shy away from a scrap...

Also had some of the 33s for Nagurski. I was quite impressed watching his race, how he was travelling into it. I know it's a 50/50 whether he goes but that will be slashed if it turns out he does. Darlo was saying about Willie not having a stand out one for the Triumph (though that never stops him) but I'm more inclined to think about JP McManus. I think he only has Nathalie Jolie in the upper echelons of the market and does JP even have his horses held back? He just buys the best available the year after.
