‘26 FRED WINTER Juv H’cap Hd

Reserves are allowed to declare in another race per BHA below:

"As part of the move to 48 hour declarations for all races at the Cheltenham Festival, no horse will be permitted to declare more than once at the meeting, whether subsequently declared a non-runner or not, unless eliminated from a race or declared as a reserve."

Thanks for clarifying. So absolutely no reason at all not to leave reserves to the day of the race. Crazy.

Apparently Philip Byrnes spotted hanging around Holyhead ferry terminal earlier today..
What are the chances of one of the boodles runners being on that boat? :unsure:

Hmm, I’d say unlikely. All the top 22 were declared and I’d have expected them to have already made the trip - as they knew they were definitely running. Could be wrong, only takes one late traveller who doesn’t take to the delayed journey - esp being a younger and less mature horse.

However, would still be more likely to pull them on the Tuesday morning so wouldn’t make a difference to Munsif.

14 years ago Henderson won this with a filly that had won the Victor Ludorum. Just saying :whistle:

Gutted about Munsif. So re-looked at this race and surprised to see Quinta do Lago still as big as 25/1. Find it very difficult to understand his price comparted to Glen to Glen.

….W Mullins;

Bertutea;
Bertutea won in very testing ground at Christmas; this ground might not bring out the best in him, but I think the application of a tongue tie will be a big help although I'd rather see softer ground.

Madness d’Elle;
I think Madness d'Elle is improving, he's a nice type. Once again, he has his chance on his run the last day and he's a nice each-way price in what, like all racing at Cheltenham, is a hot race.

Mino Des Mottes;
Mino Des Mottes is by It's Gino, which is a plus. It's going to be a tough assignment but he is a horse that's improving all the time. We give Mino Des Mottes a chance, he's got a racing weight and I wouldn't put anyone off him.

Would like to see ammes run a big race here, give the minella study form a boost.

Wonder if they pull a horse on the day whether a BHA vet/representative has to check the horse out - or they just accept stable’s word.

Got this image in my head of (possibly) Bertutea, chilling out in his stable at Closutton, wearing a ‘fuck you Charles’ placard round his neck.

I've been looking at the Victor Ludorum again and can't help thinking Pourquois Pas Papa is a big price for this, given he has a 6lb pull with Manlaga and Cobden has chosen him over Bibe Mus. OK, maybe Manlaga had a stone in hand and Hughsie did a good job of keeping the winning distance down but PPP might be worth an ew dart.
