    Guess it depends on the type of book builder. I rarely bet when they haven't had a race as I feel with that method where do you draw the line? However I will invariably have several backed per race. Mares Novice and Triumph though have become lotteries in the last few years so definitely not...

    The joys of punting novice races at Cheltenham. Win a weak maiden and you halve in price. She did it well enough but could be a hot division this year with Witches Familiar already putting a good marker down and several talented bumper fillies/mares going hurdling also.

    It could well be so. On RPR's the race is rated a fair bit higher (156 over 148). I would argue that we don't know if Act Of Innocence was/is not as good as Old Park Star, just OPS had achieved far more prior to the Festival, especially at the minimum trip and the owners didn't want them running...

    Not saying it's the case here, but always be wary of those in the qualifiers off a mark that would already get them into the race. Winning doesn't do them any favours. It's those that need the win to get in which tend to pick up these qualifiers.
