Ruby Walsh....

Anyone know if hes due to ride before cheltenham? Not seen any updates on him
 
Not a worry at all for me this absence. I assume he's doing plenty of riding out at home over the next week, and i'd never let it affect whether i'd back one of his rides or not
 
Was at a preview last week and Tony Mullins said he hadn't done any riding out at Willie's, this was early last week but he had done plenty for his dad, that was last Tuesday. My main worry for Ruby is that he said previously that when Denman was beat in the Neptune he would have won if he had known the horse better. I think Ruby hasn't ridden Getabird and only rode Next Destination in the bumper last year.

Won it well.

I did see Sky doing 4/1 for him to win that and be top jockey (boosted from 3/1) .... didn't take it
 
Looked a classic Ruby ride, which bodes well for the week ahead
 
Don't know this for a fact,
But the odds for Ruby being top jockey drifting out and specials being offered, may well be because he will not be riding in as many races as usual. I know he generally doesn't ride in them all anyway but I wonder if he;s going to give the handicaps a miss, and the bumper. I doubt very much we'll see him in a handicap chase for sure.
He's also got more choices to make this year.
 
Does seem strange given how short he is but I have jumped on him being leading jockey. Skybet max bet rules apply so won’t lose much if something strange does occur.
 
Just finished our course walk with Ruby.
Have reported on Douvan/Min/Altior in champion chase thread.
Footpad is his best ride. Confident.
Strong on Laurina.
Cant see anyway to get Apples Jade beat with Benie or at all.
Will ride Killutagh vic in the Gold cup unless ground improves. Said killutagh vic would have needed all this rain. He would have got took off his feet and jumping put under pressure on better ground.
Hopes cheekpieces will spark Faugheen but didnt sound overly confident.
Not decided on his triumph ride. Kept saying Stormy is tiny.

We had to walk the ambulance road around the whole course we werent allowed on the grass. He was showing us the fresh ground on the inside which he seemes happy enough about
 
Great first day for Ruby.
Top class judge of pace on his two winners.
 
I thought that was the worst Footpad jumped all year. The mares ride was brilliant but Arkle landed in his lap imo.
