RSA Chase 2018

If you risk your full bank on one bet then you won't be a 'pro' for very long. Grade 1 or class 7 makes no difference.

I'm not a pro. Iv been making a living for over 4 years. Each to there own on what they bet on.

4.0 JLT on betfair now.

The decision has been made already imo. Just a case of waiting for the announcement this evening or tomorrow morning.

Added Elegant Escape at 12/1 before the news breaks. Plenty of blue appearing in this market now.

I've a 16/1 docket for Monalee on 365 - should I be cashing that out?

The market is speaking

Dounikos - blue crazy
Presenting Percy - A few firms cutting into 2/1
Al Boum Photo - lots of blue
Elegant Escape- Lots of blue

I'm expecting the announcement this evening as it was last Sunday (I think) when Bromhead made an announcemrnt ref Monalee.

The danger with trusting the market is people may be expecting the announcement to come but they may not actually know and the market could be reacting to the jitters.

De Bromhead did clearly state if the ground is testing its JLT nad it's definitely going to be testing. Meant to rain all morning on the Wednesday pretty much til time of race.

It's your call but I don't believe this horse will in in the RSA.

Same position as you Rob. I’ve just crashed out for 3x my stake. If this is all fake news I’ll just put it all back on and take the hit on the difference in the return.

Personally I would not if you have him for both and can afford to lose the stake money, if you only have him for the JLT then that's a tough call..

That's gambling for you..

You were fairly adamant that Coney Island was finishing ahead of Waiting Patiently (who's jumping would go to pieces) too Scooby.

We can't be right all the time.

Adamant wouldnt be the word. I had a bet on Coney island 14/1 ew nrnb for the Ryanair. He's since ran a shocker and been ruled out of Cheltenham. Wouldn't be the 1st deffinately won't be the last. I also mentioned that wP would be a very unlikely runner at chelt.

I certainly wouldn't be right all the time if I bet in every race. I

I've only him for the RSA. Gonna keep a tab on it over the next couple of hours and make a call

Sorry i have re-read the comments and adamant is doing you a disservice. You thought WP would not be able to go the Championship pace of a G1.

Which working off memory seems to be your main reason to be against PP.

With the softer ground reducing the pace they can actually go and the likelihood of Monalee coming out surely this improves his chances. I don't think there is any doubt the horse stays.

That would be very fair.
I'd be still hoping monalee goes here.

From the excellent Narrowing the Field:

In the last 20 years 49 horses have attempted to win the RSA after running in a warm up race of 2m 5f or less - all have failed.

Doesn’t bode well for Presenting Percy!

Interesting statistic.
But I like Stats to be backed up with logic.
Is this just basic logic that most of these 49 were not proven stayers ?
