King confirmed ground too soft for Mia's Storm and will not run.

Monalee could be heading to JLT as the ground is starting to look like it could well be testing.

Wasn't gonna touch him after dropping out of the 4miler as I felt that race was made for him. Ive taken 12s ew for this. This race could fall apart. Im converted:highly_amused:
 
So Gordon tips Percy for the Gold Cup next year. The best staying novice chaser in Ireland. The one to beat.

I still give him PP no chance of winning this. Hes deffinately not the one to beat. 33s win only, i would have no reason to take it If I couldn't lay off.
Someone else's opinion on a preview night wouldn't make me doubt my own judgement in any way :)

Its not a fact. Because iv no reason to lie. I promise you i would not. Aslong as I couldn't lay it off.
I have no reason what so ever to want to back him to win this.

If PP wins this. I know nothing about racing, I'll go out get a proper job and never gamble again. And all the money iv earned would have been pure luck rather than judgement.

Your last line is nonsense in my opinion though. Of course if he wins that wouldn’t make all your other wins just luck. You, and I, would’ve simply misjudged it. Nothing more, nothing less.

If there's 2 things I'd be extremely confident on. It would be footpad winning the arkle and pp not winning the rsa.

I'm well aware my pocket supports that. But there a simple reason for that.


I'll be the 1st to post on here if he won and congratulate the winners. And take critisim for being completely wrong.

What's the point setting yourself up for a fall?

By all means oppose the horse but why do you have to keep banging on about it? How many posts have you put up saying exactly the same thing?

What are you trying to achieve?

It will either win or lose but whatever happens it surely isn't the massive deal you seem to be making out.

The idea of each post I would make would be in my mind to save others money that may not be a member of the forum, mighr not know a great deal about form/ racing but was looking in and was thinking of lumping on percy because of his price and the implied nature of him being a "good thing" far superior to the rest, next year's gold cup winner after them viewing preview nights.
When In reality he's a rotten price for what he's achieved this far and not done a great deal.


If that saves just 1 person a few quid (which im confident it would do) then that will do me.

If that comes across pushy then so be it. But that's the genuine reason.

And trying to save people some money come on now, its people having a bet on a horse they fancy its not like they are buying a house with bad foundations that you know about haha you realise you are not jesus christ right? You dont have to save us minions from the evil Percy.
 
I would assume that De Bromhead will make an announcement today about which race Monalee is running in.

He told us last weekend that if the going is testing he goes JLT. If he goes JLT then I would guess PP will become 6/4, Black Corton 4/1, Al Boum Photo 6/1, Elegant Escape 6/1.

I'm not Jesus Christ.
Not everyone gambles responsibly
Not everybody gambles recreationally
Some people may bet more than they can afford when a horse is that price and hyped up at preview nights.
preview nights can be very misleading
I gamble for a living.
I have backed plenty of losers, iv laid horses that have won.
Iv never laid a horse full bank that has won. And I believe there's a very good reason for that. I would be very selective in that regard.

preview nights are there for recreational punters.

I would do that yes. (Betting bank, not savings) But extremely selectively in grade 1s. If I ever lost full bank I would not continue to gamble. I take money out the betting bank at certain ammounts.

I am not a pro horse gambler but I do know a few & the golden rule is to never risk your whole bank same as poker. I do play a lot and anyone can & will get a bad beat but as long as you have only risked 10% of your bank you live to fight another day.

If you get ten bad lays, beats in a row your proberly not a pro gambler :devilish:
