Hi, first post. Been going to Cheltenham every year for 15 years. Been to lots of courses but Cheltenham by far my favourite. Royal Ascot for the flat.

Can I ask if everyone posts a horse for each race that will prefer soft ground to compile a list of decent betting prospects.

It's almost always good to soft because it drains so well but if the rain continues I can see at the very least 3 days of soft ground with good to soft in places perhaps.

Only if you have the time of course.

So much of this season's form has been on soft or heavy that a list of horses that need the word 'good' in the going description will be shorter.

True but by the time races start lots of soft ground horses will be shorter. Some horses may act on both and have a chance without a lot of form to go on.

I've found 5 the RP added

Kalashnikov in the supreme
Saint calvados- the arkle
Chris's dream - the Albert Bartlett
Native river - the GC
Al Boum Photo - RSA ....If it runs

Tuesday - Pointless, it will b e good to soft
Wednesday - Pointless, it will b e good to soft

Haven't you been banging the 'mudbath' and 'heavy ground' drum on the forecast thread ?

Opatcho - it's going to rain until Tuesday. Stop with only a danger of showers but then rain early Wednesday....contuing through the week. So for me the only day we might get good to soft would be Tuesday. But I'm no Michael fish

The mares without Apple's jade - La Bague Au Roi ...acts on any ground.

Tuesday - Pointless, it will b e good to soft
Wednesday - Pointless, it will b e good to soft

Thursday - Sam Spinner (NAP)
Friday - Poetic Rhythm

Poetic rhythm is my each way nap of the festival...I hope I'm right.

First Flow Supreme
Saint Calvados Arkle

to start off... but I will use the Monday to look at this when we have a much better idea of the weather.

Welcome to the forum :encouragement:

Saint calvados becoming a bigger threat to footpad with every drop of rain.

Footpad's best form is on soft too so he should appreciate a bit of cut.

Also doesn’t seem to be much more rain forecast so it should dry out next few days

Not a race I like to get heavily involved
But soft/heavy ground would be a big plus for Apples Shakira in the Triumph
