Arkle 2018

All fun and games...I'm considering having a Jonthehammer injured Mullins horse treble: Footpad (Arkle), Hollowgraphic (Bumper) and Stormy Ireland (Triumph) 165/1....only playing Jon ;)

Genuinely not the worst looking bet haha

Do you get the stable staff bonus if you land the treble? apprently they're underpaid :devilish:

Footpad

Not finished just yet I think “final decision will be made next weekend” a small concern for backers?

Not for myself. As long as he makes it to chelt the Any race market does the job. :)

All but certain he goes arkle however.

I think that the prevailing going will make any decision that hasn't already been made easy. He goes to the Arkle. 2M on soft/ heavy is perfect . It will stretch the stamina of those needing better going.

If it’s those conditions I think Saint Calvados runs them ragged.
Not long to find out :devilish:

The only even slighty conceivable switch for Footpad going to the JLT would see IO coming the other way?

Incredibly unlikely 181/1 NRNB double with 365.

When Footpad wins the Arkle, it'll be fun and games guessing next years target!

:encouragement: Soft ground probably suits Footpad but you can well imagine people going absolutely bonkers for Saint Calvados on "his" ground

Jon. You'll be interested what Channing has just said on Luck on Sunday. Word for word what you said on the Footpad rumours yesterday. :encouragement:

Shaping up to be a cracker this race. I’m pleased there looks some genuine opposition to Footpad now, but I think he still beats them. I’m expecting an even better Footpad when not making his own running upfront.

More confident on footpad now than I have been at any stage. Race will be run to suit and he’ll pick them off easily up the hill

Footpad will have sceau Royal tanking in behind and if it’s ran at a fast pace I can see SR picking them off up the hill easily

Sceau Royal doesn’t tank around cheltenham in March. Even his trainer has said he’s a far better horse pre Christmas

Just think he’s a different horse this year, I haven’t read any negative comments from his trainer regards his form there though?

He could be but every year he comes out and wins in October to December, looks great, then flatters to deceive in the spring. Remember in an interview with King around xmas he acknowledged this and didn’t know why. No issues with cheltenham form, just his form each year after a few runs
