Cheltenham Bumper 2018

Just a note of caution guys: the Racing Post is purporting to show the confirmed entries for this race but entries do not actually close until noon on Tuesday. They list 46 as having been entered; there could well be several not listed by the RP who end up being entered (and vice versa) For example, in today's write up they state that Pym is entered for the Champion Bumper. he may well be but there is no way for the Racing Post to know that definitively at this point.

UPDATE: Now changed back to 'possible entries'

Danny Kirwin looked good then. I'm sure Pym will be good in time so that might be a decent looking bumper in a few years time!

Very impressive. Came with a very strong reputation out of Ireland and already looks a chaser; not sure they'll spend too much time over hurdles with him.
16/1 for the Champion Bumper before this race - no chance he'll be going there imho. Nicholls has not had a runner in this since 2013 - would be staggered if he breaks that sequence with this horse.

Odds on to be in all the "ones to follow" books next year with the line "anything he does this season over a hurdles will be a bonus"

Well Stay Humble wasn't worth waiting for :highly_amused:

Cash out back to 45 pts... so will be leaving it, as I planned to anyway :very_drunk:

Stay humble was dissapointing although would have needed the run

His ptp worked out awful to be fair. :)

Stay Humble - Impressive winner of a point and the fourth has since gone close in a Grade 2 hurdle

He was also last in his ptp before it and pulled up behind chef des obeaux. Everything else has been beaten a long way or pulled up. Dosent make his ptp good form.

Not much point discussing it further unless stay humble wins anything of note as a bumper horse. :)

Stay Humble looks a chaser looking at that frame , looked totally outpaced turning in when pace quickened .

I think archie called it a few days ago, leave your prep run until 18 days before the big gig and there's a problem, clearly training issues and now unlikely to run, but don't dismiss he could come good later in the season and beyond....

Danny Kirwan misses Cheltenham for Aintree

Interesting Quote from Mullins

Mullins: What Holographic did at Punchestown was extraordinary

That's the view from the man himself on Weatherbys Champion Bumper candidate Hollowgraphic. Does that make him the Mullins number one in a race he has won eight times ?
Son Patrick told David Jennings in an interview coming up later on @RP_TV that he felt that Blackbow's win at the Dublin Racing Festival was "the best Bumper performance of the season." Is there a little bit of difference in opinion between Mullins pere et fils I wonder?

I imagine Patrick will sit on the one with the form in the book... and Ruby be on Hollowgraphic....

Does anyone give didtheyleaveuoutto form more credit through beating bullionare who beat midnight stroll pretty handy who in turn was only a neck behind next destination. I know I might be reaching at straws here

I give him credit for everything! The only worry would be if it comes up soft, that worry based on trainer comments about not wanting any rain the night before rather than breeding

Hoping for decent ground which usually is on the Friday. Can seen him coming late n winning with that turn of foot alot like moon racers renewal
